Essential to have old tennies or Merrill water shoes, step carefully and see what's down in there! You go through the native grass/bushes for a bit and then pop out to the edge of the cliffs north of La Jolla. Amazing and spectacular views both up and down the coastline. Since it is not far south of the Gliderport, you often see the pilots come over as well. Some amazing houses and mansions are in view! The trail is a circle so you don't really have to repeat anything either. - rjeellsPhiladelphia, PA3 contributionsThe trail following the river bed is fairly flat and an easy walk. Along the way we stopped by the ranch and met the PQ goats. They were so friendly and seemed to love getting pets and scratches (definitely a highlight!). We hiked up the waterfall where the trail was a little steeper in the places. Staff was on hand to tell us the story of how some of the animals arrived. Loma Blvd. Nearby street parking is available. Friends of Famosa Slough provide a bird checklist. - SD-tssSantee, CA50 contributionsExcellent hidden oasis in Mission Valley. Acres and acres of fun and solitude. Fountains are the best for kids of al ages (3 to 103). Lots of grassy areas, basketball courts, skateboard area and parking. Bathrooms were extremely clean. They allow food trucks when you host your private b-day party or any other occasion.
