This is a must see attraction.

PROS: The sea lions sure have a lot to say. The seals are super cute. The waves crashing are amazing. The birds are beautiful. Fairly nice public restrooms.

CONS: Lots of stairs and hills to get to area. These beasts smell terrible. Birds are pooping everywhere.

Would love to come back when I have more energy to fully explore the area.

The new Basecamp section was a blast for my kids! Next time we are bringing their swimsuits for the splash pad area.

Someone recommend us coming here so we checked the tides so we could be on the beach at the lowest tide. We came on Easter Sunday and man was it busy!! The beach is amazing here! There is so much to see and explore. A must see!

This is a great place to visit in the early spring to see harbor because the harbor seals give birth on the beach. The beach is closed off for humans, but you can walk along the sea wall to get a better look at the animals.

I have also been at other parts of the year, where this is a good sheltered place to enter the water for scuba diving and snorkeling.

An absolutely beautiful spot to visit. I advise you go around 6pm just in time to watch the sunset.
Grab a bite to eat to bring or a bottle of wine , sit on the cliffs and relax.

The view from the deck alone was worth the price of admission. Wonderful exhibits that are very kid friendly. Great staff and overall, a wonderful experience.

January 2022 I made a dive to the La Jolla Caves through SCUBA San Diego. It was great. As an older, east coast boat diver, who had never done a shore entry in surf conditions, I had a wonderful time in a completely new environment (and temperature).

Shore entry in surf was new to me, and I had a free-flow from my second reg. The life guards immediately notified me of the situation -- nice to have over-watch. The dive was shallow, about 25-30 feet max, but it's a great experience having seals zipping around you as you enjoy the other underwater life. The "caves" are really a swim-through. We had lots of surge, but I wouldn't have missed it.

SCUBA San Diego provides good service, a great guide, and were very flexible.
Cole (my guide) is an accomplished diver and a great guide. I enjoyed the kelp, sea lions, fish, and everything else along with the caves. I had scheduled a follow-on night dive with Cole at La Jolla Canyon, but a last minute conflict I forced me to call the dive. Ron (the owner of SCUBA San Diego) had no problems sending me a certificate for full credit for the next time (soon, I hope) I come out. Being in business since 1968, I felt very comfortable accepting the certificate. All-in-all, a great experience. The Caves make for a great dive and I highly recommend SCUBA San Diego! And HIGHLY recommend Cole.

If you are in La jolla you just have to visit Wind-And-Sea Beach which is located right a the water's edge of WestBorne avenue in downtown La Jolla where the surfers ride the most dangerous surf, around huge boulders, some partially submerged and some half visible in the crashing surf. Its a trip not to be missed.

I'm not a hiker, but I loved the Guy Fleming Trail. It was the highlight of the trip. The views can't be beat!

This is a large grassy area that overlooks the ocean. you can see and hear the sea lions, harbor seals and the pelicans. The park is a great place for dogs and kids. There is a walkway around the entire area.

We enjoyed the Point Loma area for its less busy roads and the views. We loved being able to see across to Coronado Island

The beach is wide and the ‘boardwalk’ very well traveled even in the off February offseason. There are many bars, a few restaurants, and other beach stores. It’s a lovely walk if that’s all that you want.

Lucky us!! Low tide in March on our visit enabled me to take Grandson poking round in tide pools . Essential to have old tennies or Merrill water shoes, step carefully and see what's down in there! FUN!

We stayed in this neighborhood on Law Street. Just a great relaxed classic southern California feel. Lots of interesting locally owned small restaurants, shops + cafes on Mission Blvd. No national chains which was nice for a change. Tons of surfers in the morning which was fun to watch. Walk the boardwalk (asphalt trail) along the beach down to Mission Beach for more great people watching and local cafes/bars/vendors. Be alert, stay to the right, and watch out for skaters + bikers. But people were very courteous + friendly. You can rent bikes if you want to ride. Some homeless people, but not a problem. Nice clean beaches too, but finding parking can be difficult at times. Public restrooms available. Great location - just 15 minutes away from La Jolla + 20 minutes from airport in good traffic.
