    Celebrating the Season
    Mary, Star of the Sea was quiet, peaceful and dressed to celebrate the season. The grounds had several monuments honoring those that have been lost. If you enjoy visiting area churches it is worth stopping by for 10 minutes or so as you drive through a shopping area in La Jolla.

    Review of: Our Lady of the Rosary Church
    Landmark
    This landmark Catholic church in Litfle Italy is currently undergoing a restoration. However, masses are currently (Feb. 2020) being celebrated in the adjacent parish hall.

    Review of: Immaculate Conception Church
    Gorgeous in the evening light
    With an attractive golden hue provided by the evening light, it made for a grand profile. In sylvan surrounds, it has pleasing features including a fine belfry.

    A foundation stone was placed in 1868 but dedication of the church didn’t happen until about 50 years later.

    Review of: St. Joseph Cathedral
    Glorious place of worship
    As we approached it looked increasingly magnificent, gleaming white in the brilliant morning sunshine. A fine belfry soars heavenwards complimenting other decorative features. Grand red steps lead the ascent to the entrance.

    The beauty continues within. Standing at the rear the vista along the nave is awe-inspiring. Ornate columns and arches lead to the attractive altar area. A sculptural image of the Last Supper adorns the altar.

    Much lovely statuary is throughout, including one of Pope John Paul II and Mother Theresa. Stained glass is gorgeous, luminous and hopeful.

    A grand organ is in an elevated area above the entrance. Admirable wood craft is to the fore in the impressive dark ceiling.

    Review of: St Agnes Catholic Church
    Lovely church
    While in the Point Loma area for a conference I stopped by Saint Agnes Church to participate in Stations of the Cross on a Friday during Lent. The congregation and pastor were very friendly and the Way of the Cross presented was a wonderful interpretation relevant for today's world.

    Review of: St. Paul's Cathedral
    Beautiful Cathedral
    This is a beautiful cathedral in downtown San Diego. Mass with the huge pipe organ and choir was inspirational. Highly recommended.

    Review of: C3 Church San Diego - Central Campus
    Unique, expanding, great place to know God and fellowship
    C3 has helped me realize the need for God and fellowship in my life. We attended this church a couple of years ago to check it out. Amazing experience, and gone most everyweek since. This church and congregration is unique and driven by God. Join them or sit back and watch them grow.

    Review of: Our Lady of Mount Carmel
    Beautiful Catholic Church
    Stunning Catholic Church in the San Diego area. As a first time visitor, I was very impressed. Both the interior and exterior of the Church is beautiful. All the parishioners were smiling and looking happy. They seem to be very well organized. They even had folks directing traffic in the parking lot! How cool is that?

    If we lived in the area, I think we'd be parishioners at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

    Saint Jude Shire located in San Diego, California
    Saint Jude Shire located in San Diego, California is a catholic church dedicated to those who pry or follow St. Jude Thaddeus. Many who have pry to St. Jude to guidance and help have had their wishes come true. The church is located just south of San Diego.

    Review of: San Rafael Catholic Church
    two fabulous Eagle Scout projects
    This church has a number of beautiful stained glass windows, but there are also two outdoor installations that are worth seeing. Both feature signature ceramic ornamentation.

    In 2004 the project of Eagle Troop 685 was an outdoor Stations of the Cross located by the Parish Hall.

    In 2013 the project of Eagle Troop 681 was a series of plaques with the names and dates of early California missions. The brick path connects the church and the office building and features a statue of Saint Junnipero Serra.

    Everything is beautifully landscaped.
