What travellers are saying
- Alan FSouthampton, UK41 contributionsWell worth the trip over on the Alcatraz Ferry from Pier 33 (the only way to access the island). Staff were really helpful, cellhouse audio tour was very interesting, and there was much, much more to explore on the island, not forgetting spectacular views back towards San Francisco. Highly recommended.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jerome French TeacherLille, France34 contributionsThat's one of the must seen landmarks of San Francisco. Be careful because it can be so windy over there. We took the bus and got off at the parking lot. We then walked to Fort Point. It's a free museum and offers a nice view when you're on their rooftop. The assurance to take some pictures with no tourist!
I love to share my culture and my love of live with everyone

- Lisa S5 contributionsThis is such a beautiful place to walk around and take photos. Many people were getting wedding and graduation photos taken while I was there. The architecture, plants and wildlife are wonderful. Great place for a stroll or just to sit on the grassy side and read or people watch.Written 3 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Margaret OCarefree, AZ225 contributionsThe gardens have amazing specimens and history. Japanese Tea Garden was hyper maintained. If I had the time, I would have stayed all day.Written 15 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- cocot1919Bayside, NY10 contributionsGale force winds dislodging your camera/phone from your hands, standing on the edge of nowhere with no bottom in sight all to get some of the best views of San Francisco. It was all well worth it. Twin Peaks is a must see.Written 13 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- besamehermosaSan Diego, CA1 092 contributionsI could stay inside the rainforest all day. So magical and informative.
So impressed with all the things you can do at this museum.
They have a planetarium, a four story rainforest, a coral reef section, a bioluminescent “twilight zone” and two amazing exhibits right now. Sharks and venom: fangs, stingers, and spines exhibit. So fantastic. I loved sitting in a room and watching all the sharks swim by plus being able to put my hand inside a box to feel what a boa constrictor squeeze feels like.
You definitely need more than one day for this museum.
Can’t wait to visit their after dark event this month.Written 3 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - hperdaems37 contributionsthis museum shares a lot of back ground information on how roy and walt started the company.
