Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail
#1 of 14 Nature & Parks in Poipu
I’ve hiked quite a bit (Grand Canyon, Zion and Arches National Parks) but this has been my favorite!
If you continue on the trail you'll come upon the Makauwahi Cave Reserve, a 17 acre creative park that belongs to the Grove Farm Company where hikers are welcome to come through.
Makawehi Lithified Cliffs
#2 of 14 Nature & Parks in Poipu
The thing I enjoyed most about this tropical nature hike was each cliff and each side of the cliff was a little different from the next.
We ran every morning from the Poipu Beach Park, out past the Hyatt, to the horse stables and got on the cliff trails and ran back to Shipwreck Beach and home for a 8-10km loop.

Allerton Garden

Tanji had a great number of factual historical tales to tell, with many interesting facts about the garden and specifically, the incredible world of nature, truly worth a few hours.
I recommend the guided tour so you can learn about all of the different species of plants, the specially designed water gardens that work because of gravity, the giant trees where parts of Jurassic Park was filmed...

Poipu Beach Park
#4 of 14 Nature & Parks in Poipu
As with many of the beach parks in Hawaii, Poipu Beach Park has an expansive grass area with plenty of shade, a couple of shaded pavilions and several picnic tables, including barbecue grills.
We saw a giant sea turtle and lots of fish while snorkeling with my 8yo! Kids also loved the park and we enjoyed ice cream and lunch across the street.

Spouting Horn
#9 of 14 Nature & Parks in Poipu
easy to get to , easy to park and fun to see the water shooting out - a must see - you may have to wait a bit between spouts, but it's great for kids and adult!!
... spouting horn gush sprays of water up into the sky from the viewing area at the top but once you see it from a boat or catamaran from the ocean it gives you a clear sense of how this quirk of nature really works.
