There is a good sized car park and a toilet block on site. A nice easy walk to multiple view points of the falls. A lovely water fall set in lush bush. Really thought this one stood out.

Quite a bit of parking and I thought it was work a walk around. Loved the floor inside and some of the older stuff they sold was quite cool. Quite expensive (purchase of items in store), but I can imagine the upkeep of the building would not be cheap.

5/5 - so fun!! I took my two year old among all of the adult crew we had. Everyone had a great time from 70 year old grandpa to our youngest who is 2. If you go, buy the extra food to feed them. It’s not very expensive and makes the whole thing 10x more fun.

Highly recommend this walk. There are two walks. One is the 10 minute board walk around a number of very large Kauri trees, then you can drive about 1.5kms to the Motor Camp to do a 1 hr loop walk. It actually took us about 40 minutes and we were not hurrying. Again some great Kauri trees. Well worth the effort. There are some stunning views over the surrounding district as you drive there and back due to the elevation of the park.

Drive in from Waipapa along pungaere road and first go right and walk the 5 minute loop track that is all board walk (a completely accessible track). What an amazing stand of Kauri.
Then.... retrace back along the road to the recreation reserve and the start of multiple tramping tracks to the 1 hour nature track loop. Lots of roots and steps but a good enough track. They have many many plaques and the diversity of plants is amazing along with more Kauri. We have walked many Nz bush walks over 60 years. This was beautiful.

This track had everything... beauty, calling Kiwis, river, waterfalls, tropical plants, kauri trees, boardwalks, friendly home owners along the way, and it was all maintained beautifully. We hiked this as part of our endeavour to complete Te Araroa with our cockatiel, so were grateful to have this included as part of our adventure. Thank you to the person who added the wonderful wooden throne along the track - just brilliant! Ollie The-Cockatiel (my epic kiwi adventure)

Lovely campsite, but the powered sites are very small and close to each other. These are described on the campsite map so make sure you read this so you know what to expect. Fantastic location to see kiwis at night, to fish and kayak when the tide is in. Small swimming area constrained by rocks and oysters either side. Toilets a bit ripe in the heat! Hosts were very friendly.

Cruise ships dictate schedule, lovely little walk and chat with local creative types. Excellent and authentic goods a refreshing experience. Town is too cute for words, but sadly overrun with cruise ship plebes during summer months.

Visited this vineyard in Feb 2021.
    What a delight.
I was wanting some different wines for our wine appreciation group.I got 3 very different products & didn't need to go anywhere else.
    A white port,walnut liqueur & a grappa.[whew]
I also tried the Sailors Sky rose for myself which is like the description of ripe strawberries.Served cold it is not too sweet & very palatable.

Lovely easy walk to the falls which looked good just after it had been raining. No signage to say that you are at the falls though.

Definitely worth the drive, the road is gravel for part of the way but it is very well maintained and easy driving. The simple and beautiful structure near the entrance sets a calm tone complementing the natural coastal setting. The map is very good, the signage is excellent; beautifully displayed, concise and interesting information. The location of the cross is stunning and the cross itself is powerful. The cross and information boards help you imagine the historical time and significant events that occurred here.

This little church is dedicated to St James of Compostela surprisingly. It’s a little gem of a place, tiny but with beautiful stained glas windows and a great sense of peace.

It was interesting to see the different native plants and what they were used for (you are provided a page giving info on the plants at the entrance). The village and surrounding buildings were interesting and gave some insight into Maori village life. There is a $10 entrance fee for adults. On the downside the buildings and place does need some maintenance/refresh, a number of the buildings roofs need to be replaced and the paths could do with a bit of cleaning and could be more clearly marked. I would say there are some better places in the Bay of Islands area to get a feel for Maori life.

Spent 2 nights in our fifth wheeler there and we were blown away by their tasty food and menu selection. Even was served to our caravan. What a treat.

The walk is easy, but not suitable for wheelchairs. Many varieties of fabulous trees and the sculptures are interesting and sometimes quirky! We spent an enjoyable 90 minutes there.
