- FactotumDellaCittaLondon, UK3 878 contributionsThis charming village with its stone houses was a nice reward after a long winding drive along narrow mountain roads. We enjoyed strolling through the alleys and observing the buildings. Note that the drive here is not for the faint of heart since in many places the road winds along a precipice and is wide enough only for a single car. One needs to park at the designated parking lot outside the village.Written 12 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BootfromEnglandSantiago, Chile16 contributionsHoused in 3 old industrial buildings we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of this Museum. A helpful Reception staff member gave us an overview & leaflet & we were able to wander at our own speed. It was very well interpreted with bilingual text, interesting artefacts and interactive displays and sounds. All linked with life-sized videos of past workers telling you their real oral history stories.
And a really imaginative restaurant to conclude an enjoyable morning. We recommend both experiences!Written 29 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hans-jaguarSanta Comba Dao, Portugal22 329 contributionsThe old medieval church of Santa María, who has being erected at the end of the 12th century. It had a bell tower with four bells. The whole church was criticized, claiming that it was small, badly built, and indecent. So for this reason, in the year 1567, the Promisor of the Bishopric of Astorga allowed the town to build a new church. Shortly after, he ordered his building. The works took a start in the year 1573, but it would not be finished before the end of the 17th century, this because the works had to be paralyzed for various reasons, such as when the plague hit the interior of the Iberian Peninsula in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. But it is certainly worth a visit as well on the out- as on the inside.Written 1 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hans-jaguarSanta Comba Dao, Portugal22 329 contributionsThis small tower is located into the historical centre above one of the remaining doors of the Medieval wall, on the “Arc de la Eras” who is giving access to the “Clock Street” who is next door of the “City Hall”. The tower himself should have been built before the year 1567, originally consisting out of two bodies with a shield of Philip II on the lower body and the watch on the upper body. This tower is also next door to the museum de "El Bierzo".Written 6 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
