What travellers are saying
- MacaroniKIDGalvestonTexas City, TX1 contributionYes! For years I would drive through Texas City on my way to Galveston beaches. Now I go to the beaches located on the Dike in Texas City. Beautifully maintained. Must have a Texas City Dike sticker to access for free if you're a resident. $10 fee to enter the Dike for the day. Makes sure you drive slowly the 5 miles on the Dike to the turnaround at the end...you can easily see Boliver and Galveston!Written 6 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Teresa O1 contributionFantastic museum with a wealth of information about the Texas City Disaster. In addition to that, it has lots of history about the area and an amazing model train display.Written 1 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Charles LVictoria, TX97 contributionsWe cruise out of Galveston annually, and always stop here going to or from Galveston. While there are no great bargains as there once were at Outlet malls, the selection and availability of different sizes makes it beckoning to us. Plus, Buccee's is next door!!Written 30 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Johnny LTexas City, TX97 contributionsThe dog park is fairly new to our city. It has all the amenities that a dog park should. Toys to climb on, in over, and under. It has 2 sides to the park. One side is for 25 pound and smaller dogs, and the other is for 25 pound and over, (unless you`ve got a big dog trapped in a little dog body, you`re welcome to visit both sides, at your dogs own risk). Bring your dog out and practice some training. Has nice water fountains for both dogs and humans, that drain slowly and won`t hold water for long periods. No bathrooms for the humans, so make sure YOU go before you come. Plastic bags and a deposit box for YOUR dog when it decides it`s time. And please, do pick it up and keep the park clean. It also has a couple of benches per side for us to sit on while the dogs run and chase their toys or each other.. Have fun!Written 15 March 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KLsWanderlustHouston, Texas1 025 contributionsA pretty park that is very well-maintained. We were very interested in the steam train locomotive (Shay Locomotive O.P.& E. #112) and old caboose that have been preserved on-site as well as a smaller undocumented rail vehicle that is set up close by the impressive train. They all seem to have been dedicated in the mid '90s. A nice stop after we visited the Texas City Museum, they were very helpful in giving us the easy directions to find the locomotive.Written 28 January 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RoseoceanSugar Land, TX80 contributionsThis is a large church with a very diverse congregation. Just sitting down and listening you will hear over 4 different languages spoken. It has over 8,000 members. Yes, you read that correctly. The inside of the church is simple and elegant. Depending on what time of the day you go, the stained glass windows reflect light that sounds as you sit and take in the calm atmosphere around you. The baptismal font at the main entrance welcomes you with the fresh sound of flowing water. Five Sunday masses allow you to partake with different groups of families. 7:15 mass, early risers, 9 am, families with young children, 11:00 am, families with preteens, 12:45, is a combination of all groups. The 5 pm is called, Life Teen, the music is geared to young people. All masses have beautiful music that makes your experience at this parish feel uplifting and ready to go out into the world energized. The Divine Mercy adoration chapel connected to the school gives an AHhhhh, Ahhh, Ahhh feeling as you walk in. This design and atmosphere are very reverent. Whatever your level of faith, these facilities fill you with the presence of God.Written 7 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - davidfW9546PBUnited States365 contributionsThis convention center is perfect location for a conference. There are large rooms or smaller rooms depending on size and needs. The city does a great job of maintaining it. Location is great and plenty of parking. Air conditioning and lighting are excellent. Audio and visual equipment available. Several different events can happen at the same time here. I was impressed.
I look forward to another event here.Written 27 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We are non-residents do we pay a little more… very reasonably priced.. very fun for kids. It’s not a thrill a minute, but is certainly more fun than a regular pool. It’s relatively clean… The restrooms can always use a scrub… esp the shower area…BUT, the kids (60) had a great time. Their snacks are reasonably priced…no $4.00 waters! Yay!Written 28 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- houstonnative47Missouri City, TX1 037 contributionsThis cemetery is dedicated to those who lost their lives during the Texas City Disaster on April 16, 1947. There is a great kiosk giving details about it in easy to understand chain of events. There are 63 unidentified victims buried here. There is also an anchor from one of the ships as well as a beautiful fountain with angel to commemorate the event.Written 10 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - houstonnative47Missouri City, TX1 037 contributionsI have to say that we were not able to tour this home because it was closed during Covid. However we did drive around the front and back of it. It is a good looking old home with lots of Victorian gingerbread and beautifully painted to the time period.Written 8 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
