Beautiful scenery with turquoise water, white sands and mountains and rock formations. Definitely a must see.

Fascinating talk about this group of Iron Age houses. How they appeared out of the sand after storm. The actual house restored was amazing. These people were very clever builders. Came away feeling I had learnt a great deal about how these dwellers lived. Excellent.

The view of the bridges from the stones is spectacular. The stones themselves are right beside the road on the Great Bernera side of the bridge. There is parking and picnic tables at the site. Toilets are available at the Community Centre about two miles away when it's open. Or at Bosta beach at the top end of the island about 5 miles from the bridge. Great Bernera is a beautiful island with lovely walks a beautiful beach and lots of history. There's a Cafe and museum at the Community Centre and a replica Iron Age Dwelling beside the sandy beach at Bosta.

The weaving is fantastic. Beautiful scenes and colours in the hangings. You can buy wool and also some knitted goods. Sallie is skilled at her craft and also very informative. We loved our visit here, I came away with a knitted hat that my husband thinks is great.
