What travellers are saying
- SamColumbia_scColumbia,sc2 contributionsMeg did a great job of customizing our tour and accommodating us. She has extensive knowledge of the area and is very considerate of people’s needs. She told us the history of the area and we must have seen 30 dolphins. I’d highly recommend.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Trek253079410963 contributionsCaroline was a wonderful guide on my first kayak tour on Edisto.
I have kayaked before but not with the tides and I wanted to learn where I could safely solo kayak on the intercostal areas around Edisto. She was an excellent tour guide. I’m turning 70 and i wanted to be safe but i like adventures too! Lots of beautiful wildlife on the water. It was a comfortable pace and i plan to do it again! The fall is a wonderful time on the Island.Written 3 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dee Morgan7 contributionsOur second great trip with Captain Jimmy. Our daughter caught a 24-inch flounder right out of the gate; all 3 kids boated an inshore slam of redfish, trout, and flounder; and we finished the day landing 4 big redfish, including a 31-inch bull. Captain Jimmy coached them through every cast and every catch…just an awesome morning.Written 17 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Melinda H15 contributionsMy husband and I absolutely loved our tour and history of Edisto. It is our first time here and we wanted to learn about the area. This was the absolute best tour. - Meredith GTallahassee, FL1 contributionMy family (and puppy) went on a boat tour with Justin and we had the greatest time. After we left, we kept talking about how great the day was, and what a great Captain Justin was. It was obvious he really cares about the area and he made sure to teach us about and show us the true beauty of Edisto. He showed us some plantations, many dolphins, a shark (my favorite), a sea turtle, and even some alligators. We originally went to find shells but ended up having such a great time on the boat that we stayed on the boat most of the time. Sometimes, people just want to get money and be done with their job for the day. It truly felt like he was excited and loved showing us around. My dog tried to sit in his lap the entire time. We will definitely be back next time we are in Edisto. Thank you so much Justin. See you next time!Written 1 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MarkB212New York, New York15 contributionsCapt. Phillip was a pleasure--in helping us plan our tour and giving us a wonderful three hours on the waters around the ACE Basin. We saw plenty of wildlife (eagles, alligators, dolphins, osprey and many other birds) but being on the water with Capt. Phillips as a guide was terrific on its own. I hope we can do a tour with him again sometime.Written 19 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dave LLas Vegas48 contributionsCapt Cliff offers a three hour tour (cue Gilligan's island music) that takes you to the mouth of the Edisto where he trawls the bottom.
When I went it was just my wife and I, so Capt. Cliff let me run the wench to swing the boom on the trawl net.
In the three hours we dropped the net three times, and brought up Shrimp (roe and rock), hundreds of sea stars, horseshoe crabs, sea robins, jelly balls, squid, permit, spotted flounder, fluke, whiting and sea cucumbers.
Capt Cliff made sure that the catch was laid out on a mat and kept alive so that it could be thrown back alive after giving us a chance to look it over.
The spot he trawls, at the mouth of the South Edisto is a perfect spot to take in the areas natural beauty; St. Helena Sound, Otter Island, Edisto Island.
If you are looking for a unique way to spend three hours that will stay with you for a long time, I highly recommend this tour.Written 7 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He considered our interests and was extra patient as we enjoyed watching the dolphins with their calves for a little extra time. The views were beautiful and Nik’s personality is perfect for his job. It was like spending time with a friend.Written 27 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lovingit TNew Hampshire279 contributionsCan not seem to get in contact with them this year. We're hoping to go for a trip. Phone and website not working or answering and noted the kajiaks at the marina are missing.
Hoping to learn where they are for next year. Had recommended them for a fun day in the past years.Written 27 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We all saved money and had a great time. We fished a couple of days before the eclipse and the tides were irregular. Fishing was tough nobody was catching but we eventually ended up with several whiting. Captain was knowledgeable and fun. A good value and a fun tripWritten 16 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
