We hired wetsuits and snorkel gear for the week so we could go in any time off the beach (cost effective if swimming every day, the water is cool this time of year).

Two of our snorkeling highlights were the 2 hour lagoon snorkeling tour with Dean of Lord Howe Environmental tours early in our stay and Dean's mesmerising night time snorkeling tour.
Jill was very helpful in organising the trip, and Ken was informative during the snorkeling for those still on board.

We enjoyed looking for turtles, a snorkel at the wreck, morning tea, a walk to Old Gulch and an informative walk along the beach learning about the local birdlife.
Amazing (ii) snorkeling further away from the beaches, with amazing and colorful fishes and corals.

We had great weather so we got to snorkel at Soldiers Cap (north tip of Island toward the Admiralty island group) and this was sensational- visited by a decent sized Galapagos shark and loads of fish of all species.
The snorkeling takes you into stunning areas of pristine blue water teeming with marire life.
