What travellers are saying
- Rob SMunich, Germany104 contributionsWe always really enjoyed this place, especially the rooftop patio. Have seen a couple of great concerts here, but that's not happening right now, so just go straight to the roof! We are really watching out for our health right now and are shocked by how unconcerned some places and their guests have been - but this place was perfect:
- They request you to reserve a spot on OpenTable, which is fine. If that's too much for you, don't come and I'm sure somebody else will enjoy the view for you.
- They have a simple check-in system to ensure compliance and manage the new arrivals. Very efficient and low impact.
- Roof access used to be limited to the elevator, and that sometimes took a while. You can still do that, but since only one party is allowed in at a time you can also now take the stairs. It's five flights, but hey, you know the exercise is good for you. And you know you earned your drink!
- You go to your table and you stay there. They have a small but fine selection of food and drinks, perfect for the late Summer sunny days.
- Many folks want to take a pic of their friends and the skyline, and they have a spot reserved for photo opportunities. This is especially thoughtful, as we have been at other scenic locations where the unmasked dopes were all over the place.
- Very simple process: every table is sterilized before you are seated, easily recognizable by a book that they place on the table when the cleaning is done.
Why can't everybody handle the situation this way? Really worth the trip, for the food & drink, for the view and for the positive experience. I was helping my other in law clean out some things which included a large amount of old records, 45s, cds and more. In Los Angeles, where I currently reside, it's a whole big to-do to try and sell media like this and rarely do they take anything. So I wasn't sure if the effort would be worth it, but I was very pleasantly surprised!
Call ahead and make sure there is a buyer in-store that day before lugging all your stuff. The buyer on duty was very friendly and took care in assessing what I had brought. In the end I was able to walk away with almost $100 for my mother in law which leads me to really trust the store. Sure, you'd make (much) more if you took the time to sell everything yourself... but who has time for that??? I walked away feeling positive and not like I was getting hosed. Not only that, but I asked the buyer if the rest (that he didn't take) was goodwill material or if he had any suggestions, and he was honest with me and said to try Everyday Music, which I did and made another $7! So I really respect their honesty here.
While I waited, I wandered around the LARGE store and it's amazing what they have! Records, 45s, CDs, Dvds... even cassette tapes!!! They had some really rare stuff too. I almost walked away with a Beatles bootleg of Yellow Matter Custard, but this particular trip was about selling... not buying... But in the future, I know where to go! They had some pretty rare vinyl as well.
All around very fun and brought me back to a nostalgic time when you could go into a record store and really explore and find some gems. There's PLENTY to explore here!Written 8 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The host Stefano Iaboni is a great performer from Italy and he invites amazing artists to join him, from Cirque du Soleil jugglers to hilarious bouffons.Written 27 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellen G1 contributionMy grandson wanted to have a “Good Omens” 16th birthday party, complete with tea. He and his friends had such a good time, and the staff went over and above to make his birthday dream a reality! I highly recommend this venue!Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- strider916Albuquerque, NM26 contributionsIf you enjoy chamber music, you will love the Chamber Music Northwest music festival. I have gone three years running and will return again. The players are world class, the variety of music is awesome and the venues are great!.
This is a perfect excuse to visit Portland, Get up late, go to a noon concert, go see the city and go to an evening show. Reed collage is beautiful and the Alberta Rose theatre is a Portland landmark.
Also, the supporting staff is incredablie.Written 9 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
