- Jennie TJersey City, NJ336 contributionsThe environment is not as modern as theaters nowadays, nor is it very big, but if you like smaller settings this will be perfect for you. There is a slight stench, but not enough to leave the area. In fact, it added to the unique experience!
I ordered tickets for the movie "Poor Things" at the concession stand/bar, so it's expected to also order whatever snacks you want along with your ticket.
I ate popcorn and got a glass of water that you can serve for yourself in the hallway towards the cinema. The popcorn tasted good, but also felt like parts of it were soggy. It occurred so often that I believe it's just the way their popcorn is served, so that's unfortunate because if it weren't so tasty, I would've chosen not to continue eating.
The seats were comfortable and soft, like you're in your living room- so the title of the building is accurate. The screen was large and had good quality. Plus, the crowd we had was no more than 30 and everybody was a joy to react with. This was a fun experience that I would do again!Written 26 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Free theater (if you are staying) and soaking tub were added bonuses. Food and drink were great. Quaint neighborhood. Felt like we got a taste of Portland’s quirky side without having to leave the hotel.Written 27 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - captaindude1Vancouver, WA19 contributionsSee a movie for half price or better. Great selections of micro beers. Popcorn for half price. Pizza by the slice from a nearby pizza parlor. This is my favorite theater if they have a movie thats on my "to see" list.Written 15 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Craig TRoseburg, OR386 contributionsWent here during Christmas trip to Portland. The movie is inexpensive, the food and drink are okay, but the parking can be an issue. Lines to the concession stand can be long, often the concession stand is staffed by one or two overworked folks. So if you are looking for a good place to see a movie, this is one of many places in Portland to get the feel of the old time movie house, but get here early to park and get food. Buy the ticket online and save that line.Written 31 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kat NsubugaRincon, GA5 contributionsThis is going to be my new favorite way to go to the movies. Online tickets were a little frustrating, the website isn’t put together that well but it didn’t take away from the fun experience we had. You can also buy tickets in person. Ticket prices are average, the same as a regular theater. Drinks were a little spendy, around $15 each but at least they were strong! We didn’t order food but it was on the slightly higher pricing side. Popcorn was normal priced, they use real butter so it’s a little different than movie theater popcorn. They’ll show you to your seats, give you menus and come back about 10-15 minutes later. Plus you can order timed drinks or foods so we got our second round about an hour and a half in. If you want drinks or food before hand they have a bar/lounge. If you want a drink as it starts, get there early. We arrived right on time and got our first round about 30 min into the movie (it was a 3 hour movie though). Also a plus if you don’t like crowds or kids, 21+ only. It’s a lot like having someone wait on you in a better version of your living room. The place itself looks amazing and is comfortable and classy.Written 31 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Madeline CookPortland, OR102 contributionsThis theater is fantastic. It’s old vintage style has been well taken care of, they show movies in 70mm and even Quentin Tarantino has come to this theater to express how much he values it. They serve kombucha and beer on tap, ice cream from ruby jewel and sizzle pie pizza! They show vaulted films, host events for rare movies and film festivals like the Oscar shorts. I go every year.Written 16 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Bob SOlympa, WA141 contributionsCinema 21 shows movies that do not always appear in the suburbs. It is comfortable. There are Saturday morning "oldies" shown each week at 11:00.
In the are, there are many good restaurants of all kinds that provide many choices for pre- and post-movie eating.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We decided to make an afternoon of it. We bought movie tickets, 3D Max tickets and then purchased $2 in nickels for each family member. We printed off the coupon for buy 1, get 1 on the entrance fee. The facility is rather old, but for an affordable afternoon out of the rain it was well worth it.Written 15 June 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - blackfootcampOttawa, IL433 contributionsI knew things were going to go right when I pulled up to this theater and lucked up on rock star parking a half a block away. Being new to the city and this particular movie house, I didn’t know what to expect. Upon entering the theater, I was immediately confronted with 2 stories worth of steps to get to the physical space where the seats are. These new movie houses are really making it tough on an old guy with bad hips. But, alas, in this movie house, there was an escalator right next to the staircase. The movie house itself looks to be fairly new but I really have no way of assessing that. It was big and bold and the seats were fairly comfortable. But compared to the....Here’s your lazy boy chair and your 3 drinks minimum theaters, it has a way to go.Written 5 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Naomi R1 contributionIf the thought of watching something so unsettling that you don’t want to watch but you can’t look away, look no further then the mini Hollywood theatre at Pdx airport! For the longest 10 minutes of your life you can watch a wire man with a creepy clay head get offered vomit, get his head ripped off my an arm that’s seemingly coming out of him, lose his head inside a man’s stomach, get reborn out of clouds, get killed maybe? Then watch a sheep it a leaf and have a stroke? If that all sounds appealing then you should definitely check out “sheep at last” the movie that made me say “what the hell did I just watch” I will have nightmares about this, and you can to! Only at PDX!Written 3 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- L W1 contributionLiterally the best independent theater in Portland!! Whether it’s the beer selection, popcorn, or just the portland vibes, you’ll love this place, especially if you’re a film lover. The people who bought the place last year really put their love into it and it shows.Written 14 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SusurrusWaimanalo17 contributionsFilm Freaks, don't miss a visit to local SE Portland. The Clinton Street Theater (one of the oldest in the nation) still holds the requisite 'Rocky Horror' night, but you can also check out all those indie premieres and festivals that will show up in the mainstream years from now. And this SE neighborhood is Portland-Chill with an emphasis on good food (all kinds in all directions!) and beer (locally brewed). Great places to sit with the locals or just ruminate over intense film experiences.
No need for a car -- if you are not on bike (For shame!), the #4 and #10 come directly from downtown (although you could stay at the eco-hostel a few blocks away!)

I didn’t know you can buy tix on line via fandango but you can! Still a line for food but at least you can throw down a jacket for your seats first.
And I love the staff! Very friendly and personable but neighborly really. This isn’t the Regal with someone in uniform. This is your neighborhood brew and view with people that probably do live around the corner from you and I love that.
Perhaps the last neighborhood theater left in the city?Written 21 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a great place to go to watch an eclectic selection of films screened in 35mm. From classic to camp. And Independent to mainstream films. And the prices are very reasonable too!
I remember going here to see every chapter of the old 12-chapter movie serial "The Adventures of Captain Marvel" when this place was part of the Moyer Theater chain back in the 1970's.
