We only got to do one of the hikes because of dogsledding, snowshoe hiking and going to the Sami VIllage but would lovedto return and do more

This summer our objective was a 9-day hiking trip into Sarek national park in Sweden : no path, no infrastructure, a nature deep and wild, and the beauty of the Rapadalen Valley ! It was definitely worth the effort !!

Wonderful experience. Easy trails, beautiful scenery, awesome warterfalls and peace and quiet all around.
We took a day trip, but should I have had packed a tend along, I would have spent night out there and kept exploring the park.

Simple beauty for all nature lovers. I would recommend visiting in the beginning of July as all the precious arctic flowers are in full blossom, forests are lush green and yet the mountain tops are covered with snow. If you hit a sunny day you will get an experience to remember. Big plus is accessibility with car and at the same time not "overcrowdiness" known from other national parks.

Unless you ahve your own boat, the slot to visit this area is quite short (July to early August). Check the available tour dates at Bosmina, and book in advance, as they take a maximum of 12 people a day to the island, and not every day.
It costs 200 SEK with the boat-taxi, you leave Haparanda harbour at 8.30, and return at 5. Enough time to take the walking trail in Sandskär, and enjoy the white sandy beaches, and luckily see some seals and moose! Take the binoculars, respect the trails (as nature is quite fragile) and bring the garbagge back. You can also book a sealsafari, where the chances of seeing seals are higher! Excellent activity for the whole family or a group of friends. You can camp on the island, but make sure you have enough food and water, as you might not find enough water on the wells! Perfect spot for birdwatchers.

Jokkmokk Youth Hostel is an exellent place to stay. The hostes Cecila is a very nice person, who takes care of you and the place in a proper way. The breakfast is generous and there is also a Sauna where you can relax. I warmly recoment the place. Pierre

This nationalpark is another gem in a long list. The forest seem like a fairyland with all those rocks and mosses and lichens covering the ground. There's a beautiful lake, rivers and marshlands.
We hiked the Angsjötrail, which is about 3,7 km long and has some very rocky parts and steep slopes. We even saw a pair of wood grouse.
The only downside was that parts of the wooden trail through the marshlands had actually gone broken or were partially under water. And since we didn't want to turn around at this point we went on and had to wade through almost knee deep water.
Anyways, there's some other trails there you might try out this time of year...

On a clear day, you get these amazing views over the lakes. Looks like a postcard! It takes around 3h to go to the top, from the parking lot. Along the trail, there is a hut, a fire place and a bathing place. Part of the Kungsleden trail.
