An interesting curio with a bit of mystery attached. Doesn't take long to look around but clearly took someone a long time to construct.

Well worth £5 and 30-60 minutes of your time. Thanks to Lee, we learned all about the history and various bits of gossip.

If you are in Margate, totally worth a visit

Having read recent reviews here I was nervous about visiting, but we needed somewhere that wasn't weather dependent to get a mixed age family group together. We were there two hours including a trip to the cafe and everyone found something to interest them. If you loved the old version I guess there might be things you'd miss but we'd not been before and so didn't have anything in mind. Some stools to get the smallest children up high enough to see the things they're too small to play with would be nice, and the car park could use a more obvious signpost but apart from that we had no problems. I wouldn't suggest going expecting more than £5 of entertainment but we had a perfectly nice afternoon.

Came here to watch Morcheeba and the vibe was really nice and chilled. Initially we had to get the attention of one of the ticket stewards as she was too busy chatting to one of her colleagues for ages seemingly disinterested in customers. The rest of the staff we met were friendly and welcoming.
The layout was nice with plenty of space to stand or sit down on the floor. Lovely venue with plenty of bars and eateries. Pricey but you expect it these days to be honest. We were lucky the weather was fantastic for us and even though I'm a hobbit (5ft 1") could see ok. Sound and lights system was great which really added to the experience. It was great that some of the fairground rides were operational and people were having a great time. Downside were the toilets and they were pretty minging to be fair. I would recommend during events posting staff permanently to ensure toilets are cleaned, unblocked and restocked.
Overall a fantastic outdoor venue for events and we would happily venture here again -weather dependant.

    What a little gem 💎
It needs some updating but so much potential. The upstairs was closed due to a leaking roof. Hope to revisit when it’s repaired.

We love margate. We alway go in the summer.
Last tine we went was with our baby and watched the Pride parade 2023.
The only downsides were we struggled to find a baby changing facility and the pier smelt really bad.
After speaking to locals in the pub, they said the smell was due to rotting seaweed.
Nonetheless we will continue going to margate for our beach days. I love the donuts and fish n chips.

lovely old hotel, famous for having stars past and present, when you walk in you step back intime, its 1930s allover again to present day it has lots of character. old fashioned bar has paintings and statues then you can walk out onto the verander and sit among the flowers and bushes with bird s churphing away whilst hearing the sea not fair away.Once you check in you head to the original old fashioned lift with the pull sliding doors with space for 2 persons in side that takes you up 3 floors smoothly. on the second floor amongst the guest bedrooms you find a museum of orginal items collected and kept by the owner showing history of old margate very interesting, head into our bedroom turns you into a classic twin bedroom vintage bathroom and balcony with great views and room enough for 2 to barsk in the hot sun and enjoy the view

I went there as a nostalgic trip and also under impression Margate was up and coming ? Enjoyed my stay but Margate still seems rundown to me . Old town part is interesting but rest of town pretty shabby and in need of some attention. Enjoyed the sculpture exhibition at Turner Margate however don’t expect any Turner paintings as there aren’t any !! Don’t know why Tate Britain can’t loan some from their massive collection .

Vintage shops, funky eateries and old pubs. Enjoyed wandering through the few small streets. Eagle-eyed viewers of Location, Location, Location might even spot a property featured on a recent programme.

Perfect night out in a perfect venue with perfect piece of stunning acting (wow).
What a gem Tom Thumb theatre is.
Alex and Sarah couldn't be more welcoming and professional.
Please Arts Council don't let this go! It would be a huge mistake.
    Definitely coming back.

Great customer service - very knowledgeable and helpful in providing lots of different options from a cost and quality perspective. Very good value. Quality of work was great and it was all done very quickly and efficiently too. Highly recommended!

My brother had been wanting to come here for years and frankly after reading the 1 star reviews, I really wanted to come too! It's a tiny space packed full of stuff all about everyone's favourite crustaceans. The illustrations are super charming and the exhibits have a great balance of humour and information. A great way to spend 1 - 1.5 hours, whether you're a hardcore crab fan or a crab fan that doesn't know it yet.

Go into it with an open mind: this isn't anything like the centuries old institutions founded by toffs with hoards of stolen artifacts that you can go and visit in central London (although those are still very interesting places!). It challenges some antiquated pereptions of what a museum is supposed to be and I was a big fan of the philosophical questions for grown ups.

The best thing about it though is actually the staff. If you go in there without talking to/ engaging with them, you are missing out on half of the good stuff. Bertie was amazing when we visited and gave us loads of extra details, including some high octane rockpool action under the microscope!

Genuinely the highlight of our day, 100/10, will visit again.
