Southport Pier and RIverwalk
#1 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Southport
The riverfront in historical (Safe Haven movie) Southport is an awesome place to visit mainly because of the great views of the Cape Fear River and Bald Head Island.
You can just sit and watch the Cape Fear roll by as it meets the ocean, or you can wander through any number of shops, restaurants, historic sites and tourist attractions.

The Bald Head Island Lighthouse ("Old Baldy") is one of the beautiful "must-see" sights on this secluded island off the coast of NC, south of Wilmington.
The lighthouse built in 1817, is the oldest in NC... Climb up 210feet and the views are worth the climb... Good for fans of light houses or just anyone wanting to see a beautiful old structure...
