Three of us spent the afternoon enjoying a Signature Tasting with Angela as our wine educator. She was very friendly, enjoyable and extremely knowledgeable. We tasted several Signature and Reserve wines which were all excellent. We spent a leisurely time tasting the wines and discussing the wines. It was a very enjoyable visit.

Definitely worth a visit unless you don’t like caves, then maybe not. For those looking for a bit of nature, and adventure and history all wrapped into one, make it a stop on you itinerary.

This beautifully landscaped park on the back side of an interstate rest stop gives fitting recognition to Viet Nam vet. Sooo many from NC, so many casualties, so many not treated well when they got home. Now they are honored and recognized. As cousin of a lovely adopted child from Viet Nam, I am very thankful for their service, and that she did not grow up under the Hanoi regime.

Went to spend the week in Concord, but had to do the drive to Welcome, NC to see the museum and then across the street to see the shop.
The museum was well laid out in a history timeline. The relationship with RCR and Earnhardt was well documented and has some many actual race cars and hauler from that era. Additionally, other drivers and build shop items are right there in front of you. I actually thought the museum was the best, but it did cost a couple of $$$. Well worth it. In the Shop area they were loading Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch cars into the hauler for the Richmond race.

A bit if a drive, but in my opinion, the trip was so worth it.

Stopped in to Weathervane Winery on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy the fare of some specialty food trucks and for my wife to sample their wines. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of their wines and their gift shop and tasting room. She especially enjoyed their Nor'Easter Chambourcin, a grape varietal that is difficult to find retail. Highly recommend it and their Cab.
This is a great little spot for an afternoon getaway!

    A wonderful lake.

High Rock Lake feels so special! It is the perfect blend of fun and relaxation. The “pace” of the lake it just perfect. The lake is large (one of the largest in North Carolina) so there are many places to boat to. You can boat to Goat Island and join the party or boat into a quiet cove and swim and float. You can jet-ski the main channel or take a quiet paddleboard trip into a quiet harbor and search for herons and other wildlife

For those who crave a more active getaway, there is fishing, boating, kayaking, boat rentals, jet skis...Motor to one of the two boat-up restaurants, both full of local colorful flavor, often featuring live music and other events. For those wishing a quiet getaway, wildlife and bird watching is excellent (herons and cranes abundant)!
Some beautiful fish have been pulled from this lake, which often hosts fishing tournaments.

High Rock strikes that perfect balance of having enough to do, while also not feeling overcrowded. While you will see exciting activity on the weekend, (JetSkis and pontoon boats and motor boats and fishing boats) which lends the weekend an exciting pace, during the week, you will find lovely peaceful lake moments, watching the birds and the occasional boat or fisherman go by.

Even storms are magical at the lake. Sitting on a dock or porch, watching the clouds roll in and then watching the lightning over the lake, truly magical!

These wines are different from many of the Yadkin Valley wines. However, they are very fruit forward and mellow. The tea wines are also unique and delicious. Vicky is very friendly and offers great info on the wines. Please stop by this lovely small vineyard and enjoy the wine!

Located in the Old Courthouse in historic Uptown Lexington, the Davidson County Historical Museum contains exhibits of local history. It is definitely worth a visit. The museum is upstairs, but there is an elevator.

My husband and I love visiting different winery's, this one a little different, but in a good way. Way out in the country nice and quiet with picnic tables all around to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The owner was very knowledgeable about his wines and very interesting to talk to. We had a great visit and well worth a second visit. Might want to visit on a nice day this place is a large gazebo open to the outside elements.

This isn't a big antique store but it does have a lot of nice things at good prices. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. The main aisles were wide and uncluttered and the individual booths were well organized making it a pleasant visit even though I didn't find anything to bring home.

You can find vintage clothes, vintage hats/bags, lighting, glassware, art, furniture, rustic items, kitchenware, books, magazines, mid-century items and much much more. If you are in the area it's definitely worth checking out.

This isn't a large place but if you are in the area I would recommend stopping. We didn't find anything to bring home but they have a lot of nice things. The main aisles were wide and clear, the people are very friendly and helpful, and the booths were well organized.

You can find primitives, farmhouse items, vintage jewelry, toys, furniture, collectibles, ceramics, vintage clothes, art, outdoor decor, porcelain and much more. The prices were also very good.
