- Marcin P5 contributionsGood for a quick stop, while checking historic railway precinct in Collie. Car models sculpted from coal are a must. Love such places as they show how everything changes, industries in WA, technology and needs of people. I didn't go inside, but even from the outside it looks very historic. - Dan LBunbury, Australia7Â 596 contributionsThe arch was relocated from Western No.1 underground mine entrance in 1999 and we were told is the only surviving example of a mine entrance from the Collie Coalfields. There is a replica coal skip adjacent, this was erected in 1994 in recognition of the miners who worked the underground pits from 1890 to their closure in 1994. There are two plaques, commemorating the relocation, affixed to the arch.
