Beautiful walk but poorly marked as to where to park. Paying to park was another battle. Once on the bridge, it was very nice.

Absolutely wonderful gallery full of gems. It’s a lovely surprise on the vassar campus and free to enjoy! Big names like Picasso, Matisse, Moro, Calder, cezanne, munch, and more. We also enjoyed the beautiful temporary exhibit of South African beading. Very impressive! Highly recommend.

Coming too early in the season to tour the house; we were able to explore the visitor's center, and some of the grounds.
The center is obviously a popular venue; in that the parking area was nearly full, due to people attending classes/lectures within.
The gift shop has a nice selection of items to browse; with the staff person there being friendly and informative.
There was a really useful, to us, display of complimentary literature regarding the Hudson River Valley; much of which was helpful in our 10 day exploration of the area.
The best part of the visit for us, was viewing the installation of an exhibit of paintings by Scott Thomas Balfe. His works were an exquisite assemblage of stunning landscapes; very much in the Hudson River Valley school of artistry tradition (one of our favorite genres).
If we again visit the area; we hope it coincides with an opportunity to tour the home.

The previous TA review gives a nice listing of campus buildings worth noting.
We would add the Loeb Art Museum (a compact little gem, with an interesting & enjoyable collection of eclectic art traditions to explore); and the library (with its impressive interior/exterior architecture, and stained glass windows)..
We enjoyed experiencing the campus on a pleasant early May day; strolling the grounds, and sitting at several comfortable vantage points.
Being a half-century since our university days (Purdue & DePauw); it provoked some nice memories, watching the students moving from one impressive building to another (especially the guided groups of high-schoolers, getting an orientation to their possible future academic choice).
We also had the surprising treat of hearing the Chapel bells playing the theme song from Star Wars.
This is a beautiful, historic campus to visit ; whether one is contemplating a future educational opportunity, or just appreciating superb traditional structures, while reminiscing one's youth.

We passed by the campus numerous times, during our 10 day exploration of the Hudson River Valley; before turning in and finding out, what was this complex of interesting architecture on the River.
Checking out its history, and current status; made our appreciation of the grounds, buildings and wonderful River vistas even greater.
We returned several times, and enjoyed sitting by their beautiful little park area along the River shoreline. Not only did it provide comfortable/relaxing views of the water; but it was a great vantage point to watch young crews learning/practicing their skills at the adjacent Hudson River Rowing Assoc.
Being a half-century since our university days, it was a pleasant place to rekindle memories of a bygone time; and it made a nice addendum to our exploration of the Vassar campus, during our stay in the area.
If we again return to the area; taking another turn through this engaging campus, would definitely be on our agenda.

I want to thank you for a great job done. I just returned from an extensive food shopping experience at your store (Tuesday before Thanksgiving). The store was packed with courteous employees all doing a wonderful job of restocking. Their cheerful demeanor spread to the customers. Everyone had smiles for everyone else. Remarkable! Management has a great deal to do with making shopping at Adams a pleasure. Happy Thanksgiving! Mary Lulu Lamping

Our second time seeing Post Modern Jukebox at the Bardavon and we have never been disappointed. The theater is a historical reminder of past performances and continues to entertain today. We hope that the community will continue to support the arts.

I brought my youngest granddaughter here on a rainy baby sitting day. Friendly staff, free parking with admission and reasonable price. We spent several hours as she enjoyed the many hands on exhibits. Clean facilities and beautiful river views. Nearby to Highline over the Hudson.

I have been coming up to the Hudson River Valley for many years and I have never before really explored Poughkeepsie. I had been downtown years ago when it was gentrifying but that was in 1997.

The whole waterfront area and lower Main Street and the waterfront is going through a change right now with newer people snatching up homes in the historic Union Street area, lower Downtown and the Waterfront adding in new bars, restaurants and stores. Little Italy does not exist pretty much any more except for two restaurants, a hair salon and a bakery and one pizzeria. The rest is being renovated for artists who are moving into the area and renovating the houses in this section.

The Walkway Across the Hudson is changing all of this as is new housing by the river. Poughkeepsie is a City to watch.

This is a lovely historic building worth a visit. If you are coming for polite and fast service go to another post office. But do stop by at least once to see the structure.
