- Kelly26 contributionsThe Giant’s Playground was striking, and fun to walk through. The walking path is fairly well signed, although I got off-path towards the end and wandered for a bit before picking it up again. Bring plenty of water and a hat if you go during the day. The Quivertree forest was less appealing to me; you can see plenty of it from outside on the road and I didn’t get much from walking closer. But the ticket includes admission to both places, so you may as well walk in the trees for a bit.Written 21 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shareforfun1London, UK48 contributionsLovely quiet campsite. Fantastic Quiver trees and amazing sunset views. How lucky were we to find this place! The owner makes sure you have hot water, ablutions are basic but clean. We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed taking amazing photos. The owner has 2 friendly dogs who will immediately adopt you and accompany you on walks and sit by your camp. It’s nice to find such a lovely simple camp. - Tanya1 contributionWe decided to visit Naute Kristall because we were already familiar with their renowned Dandy Brandy. We had a tasting and a quick lunch, which turned out to be an excellent and informative experience. We purchased some Dandy Brandy to take with us. However, there was a shortage of stock at that moment. Nonetheless, the remarkable owners went above and beyond by specially bottling and delivering our order to us later that same evening, at the Canyon Roadhouse. Their exceptional service left a lasting impression. I hope to see your products on South African shelves very soon!Written 7 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GrahamLondon, UK40 contributionsWe tried to visit but failed to get hold of Giel for several days. We visited in the hope that there was information that would let us do a self guided tour but unfortunately we were unlucky. All reports speak highly of it so we were really disappointed. We found some nice books and photos in the office which was open so he obviously is extremely well informed. The toilets were also accessible. We met another tourist who had failed to contact Giel looking for a camping site. We know that when we next visit Namibia we need to make arrangements much earlier.Written 4 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jacob HWindhoek, Namibia28 contributionsThe viewpoint is a lovely spot to look out over the dam. There were various water birds to observe and it makes a nice backdrop for photographs. Binoculars are definitely recommended.Written 3 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ErwinAntwerp, Belgium2 964 contributionsThere is now a museum in the Rhenish mission church, which was been inaugurated in 1895, May 8th, the previous church which was washed away by the river Aub in 1890.
In addition to religious memorabilia the museum contains a display about Nama history and culture with a detailed display of local plants and their traditional uses by the Nama community. The garden around the museum contains several of the plants that feature in the exhibition and a scale model of a traditional Nama hutWritten 24 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Its still a good place for pictures though as my sons had a great time running on the tracks and taking picturesWritten 20 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is shaped in the form of an obelisk and topped with the German Imperial eagle in bronze.Written 24 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
