I had an amazing few days in the National Park. The landscape is really stark and unique. Wildlife is less abundant than some other regions, but what is here is amazing. There is a good chance to see White Rhino here. I managed to see 7 of them, and only made one attempt at it. I highly recommend this place. If you are interested in seeing Rhino, hook up with a tracker guide through one of the local lodges.

Beautiful view of the National Park. Rhodes selected this burial site personally and included instructions for his burial there in his will. This is more than a beautiful view, it is an important piece of the African history.

I traveled Matobo NP expecting to go on safari much like the other NP's I have previously been to on the trip, but this was so much more!

Our guides Kurt and Ian were full of knowledge and passion as we learned about the parks wildlife, history and plants. We were lucky enough to walk with Rhinos, including a 4 month old. We were able to sit within a couple of meters away from them and simply watch, it was so surreal. This was only possible because of Kurt and Ian's great amount of experience with these animals.

We also took a trek through the bush to see some historical cave art and visited the chief. This was not just sight seeing... it was educational and emotional with once in a life time encounters.

No question was too hard to answer and the lunch was delish too. I cannot recommend this day tour highly enough!

Thanks for having me and the G Adventures crew guys, I will continue to spread the word on Rhino conservation and I hope to revisit again in the future.
