- Beverley BDeal, UK285 contributionsThis was a great experience. The jeep we were in was not full and so we had plenty of room to move from side to side in order to see all that the park had to offer. Hwange is best visited in the dry season since then animal movement is far more predictable, and you are less likely to get soaked. There are plenty of picnic spots so take a packed lunch or BBQ. Beware of cheeky vervet monkeys who will take anything they can get at!Written 10 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maaike R9 contributionsHi everyone!
I Highly recommend this horserinding experience. You can go there (deep in Hwange National Park) thanks to Brian from Customise Travels. He took uslast week at our lodge in Vic Falls to this Hwange 1 day horseback safari experience.
Our 16-days Botswana tour with an international group ended in Vic falls that morning and we had on our bucket list to do horse-riding between wild animals.
Everything was perfectly organised that day. On the road Brian told us a lot about Zimbabwe, the situation in general and also about his family. Very nice to be in his company.
The Horseback safari was exactly like we hoped. It was a full day, included a very nice stop for lunch. The horses were very well threatened and they took also a real break, (saddles off, water and they were free in limited area). The guide was from Zimbabwe and had all knowledge of the wild animals and local people. We discoverd thet they are people with a real warm heart for the local comunity. They contribute a lot.
While we were riding, the gnus, kudus, birds and impalas didn’t really notice us and crossed our paths. They saw our horses grazing and so they knew it were herbivores and that made them without fear.
We were very tired on the way back to our Lodge. We felt very save, in good hands, whole day and finished our South African Experience with this unforgettable day!Written 16 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
