- Maree RChristchurch, New Zealand1 323 contributionsAs part of a tour we were lucky to spend a couple of days in this area. Wildlife at every turn. Best with a guide as they know where they are going. We camped and sadly I was unable to charge my camera or phone as the connections they had were different to what I needed.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maree RChristchurch, New Zealand1 323 contributionsAbsolutely stunning wildlife viewing. We ticked the last of the big five here with a sighting on our last night. Great place to stay and in our tents it felt pretty rustic. Would not have seen what we did without our guides, possibly might have more photos of birds if we were on our own.Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maree RChristchurch, New Zealand1 323 contributionsAs part if our tour we stayed for 2 nights in a tented camp and had game drives during the day which were spectacular. The drive in from Maun was long and slow on rough roads but we did see wild life on the way and the area was full of fantastic viewing. Great place to spend with a guide as they know where to go!!!Written 6 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MrHenduLake Stevens, WA184 contributionsWe normally plan our own adventures but for our first ever trip to Africa we reached out to Ultimate Africa Safaris for their expertise. Ian Proctor created a perfect itinerary for us, took care of all the transfers/accommodations, and gave us the peace of mind that all the moving parts of this adventure would come together smoothly.
We could not have hoped for a better trip...
We flew Seattle, WA to Doha, Qatar. We had an overnight layover so we booked a room at the hotel inside the airport. The hotel was a great place to rest and we were able to get up in the morning and walk right to our gate without having to worry about checking our luggage or navigating security again.
First stop was Cape Town, South Africa.
A driver picked us up at the airport and delivered us to a boutique hotel, Kensington Place. Two days of private cape and wine country tours and then it was time for Safari.
Second Stop was Khwai Leadwood Camp, Botswana.
Our driver delivered us back to the airport where we caught our flight to Maun, Botswana. After a short stay in the private Wilderness Air Lounge we were off to Khwai for 3 nights. The tented rooms were amazing, the staff was attentive to our every need, and the wildlife did not disappoint. Game drives, scenic helicopter flight(with 3 night stay), mokoro canoe excursion...WOW is all I can say about our stay.
Third Stop was Linyanti Bush Camp, Botswana. (3 nights)
We transferred via helicopter...What a great way to go!!! Again the tented rooms were amazing. Every detail was taken care of to make sure we had wonderful stay. One thing we didn't realize was how much delicious food we would encounter...Breakfast, Tea stop on morning game drive, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Sundowner on evening game drive, and Dinner, all accompanied by wine pairings or your favorite drink of choice.
Fourth Stop was Camp Okuti. (2 nights)
A short plane ride transferred us to the final camp. This camp was a little more self service than the first two but still paradise. Every activity we did provided something memorable that made this adventure special.
Final Stop Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. (2 nights)
A plane transferred us to Kasane Airport, Botswana. A driver helped us pass through the border to Zimbabwe and brought us to Batonka, a nice boutique hotel in Victoria Falls. The next morning our driver picked us up for a tour of the falls, we had lunch overlooking Zambezi river, and finished the trip with a nice dinner at Three Monkeys restaurant in town.
The only bummer was we had to go home...Our driver picked us up that final morning and brought us to the Victoria Falls Airport. We flew to Cape Town, then back to Doha, and then finally back to Seattle.
Thank you Ian and Ultimate Africa Safaris for helping deliver a trip of a lifetime. I would recommend your services to anyone considering and African adventure. I truly hope that we have the opportunity to use your services again in the future.Written 1 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. us amazing a 5 days tour in the in the middle of the Delta. We slept with a
tribe that Met's grandfather was his chief. Met introduced us to Derik, one of the best guide we had in Africa. Every early morning we went out with our 4X4 car to game drive, than at about noon we used to come back, played with the
children of the tribe and than on the afternoon went with the Mokoro in the Delta or going for long walking to find animals. It was amazing week with many adventures, and the best sunsets of Africa. For Met's WhatsApp number: +26775801208
