- Helen J8 contributionsAmazing. Informative. Beautiful.
Wear sturdy shoes, it’s tough underfoot. Keep going til the end to the big cave. Well worth the visit but a wee exertion back up to the car !Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We each had 2 dives and we saw a lot of them. They were swimming everywhere. The crew and the entire staff were perfect, they provided us with breakfast in the morning, then lunch later. All instructions were explained to us clearly, factually and in great detail. The crew was very, very helpful 10/10. I have absolutely nothing bad to say. Just perfectWritten 2 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jo VLeopoldsburg, Belgium400 contributionsThis review will not describe the usual stuff but we meant it was worthwile to share our story with the community. We booked our Whale Safari Tour somewhere in May 2024 and payed our deposit. Did we we know then how things would turn out concerning the weather by the time we were expected for our safari. Winter was long this year and one cold front after another hit the cape. In August there had been already a lot of cancellations due harsch weather but we were confident that by the time of end September/Beginning of Oktober weather would have improved so we were not worried at all. But things came different as expected and a little less than a week before sailing and weather forecast not looking good as another storm was announced we were contacted by Ivanhoe Sea Safaris they were cancelling the Wale trip and asked us to point out another date later. Unfortunately that was impossible for us since we would leave for home a few days later. Immediately they offered us a payback and did every effort to make it right but bank control was making things difficult. However we managed to find a suitable solution for all. It is important to us to share this review than it was more important to Ivanhoe Sea Safaris to keep the honor to themselves and having satisfied guests by cancel the trip with a payback of deposit than to sail out knowing there would not be much whales to see and most people getting sea sick. Whenever we wil have another opportunity to have another try to see whale up close on an open ocean we will not hasitate and book with Ivanhoe Sea Safaris again without doubt. Thank you Adrian for your patience and effort to get things right and done.Written 21 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John OBoulder, CO38 contributionsI've always been scared to death of sharks and wanted to overcome this by swimming with them (in a cage). If you're in a similar position as me, this is the place to do it... the cages face the open water, but the back of the cage faces the boat, which I liked. Also, you can hold onto bars INSIDE the cage, which means your fingers aren't exposed to sharks. You also don't need a scuba certification, you just hold your breath and dunk your head underwater... all of this was super helpful in getting me in the water. These guys did everything right... recommended.Written 6 April 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NRBQRocksBoston, Massachusetts83 contributionsMy daughter and I had a very good experience, but you need to make sure that you go with the right expectations. First - We saw two sharks but there are no guarantees. Second - The Boat ride was choppy, this is NOT a trip if you are the slightest bit prone to sea sickness (about 20% of the passengers on our trip got seasick and didn't participate in the diving). Third - The food and pre-trip videos were all good but not great (don't expect luxury). Go with the right expectations and hope for the best. We would absolutely do it again. The hotel pick up was very good.Written 27 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CherylCape Town, South Africa5 contributionsThe morning started off with a delay on the sharklady's end, which made the group of 18 a tit bit restless... But boy were we in for a treat! X2 juvenile great whites of 2.5m in size as well as x2 massive stingrays (family of the shark) came out to play on the day!!! A BIG THANK YOU to the skipper and crew for your friendly hospitality. I will definitely be coming back with a few friends👌Written 19 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
