SANCCOB is not just a place to see penguins (it is certainly not a Zoo), it’s a place of education and learning about the African penguin and the challenges they face. The dedication of the people and volunteers is palpable, reflecting their genuine care for the conservation and well-being of this vulnerable population. We were so inspired by our visit that we adopted penguins for ourselves and as gifts for friends back home—there couldn’t be a more meaningful gift. A visit here offers insight, appreciation, and a meaningful connection to the important work being done to protect these incredible birds. Highly recommend for those looking to understand and support wildlife conservation.

Absolutely loved the experience we had with Sarah and the team!

From matching us with our horses to exploring the beach and even swimming with the horses in the ocean. Memories to last a lifetime🩷

    Will definitely be visiting again🥰

This review will not describe the usual stuff but we meant it was worthwile to share our story with the community. We booked our Whale Safari Tour somewhere in May 2024 and payed our deposit. Did we we know then how things would turn out concerning the weather by the time we were expected for our safari. Winter was long this year and one cold front after another hit the cape. In August there had been already a lot of cancellations due harsch weather but we were confident that by the time of end September/Beginning of Oktober weather would have improved so we were not worried at all. But things came different as expected and a little less than a week before sailing and weather forecast not looking good as another storm was announced we were contacted by Ivanhoe Sea Safaris they were cancelling the Wale trip and asked us to point out another date later. Unfortunately that was impossible for us since we would leave for home a few days later. Immediately they offered us a payback and did every effort to make it right but bank control was making things difficult. However we managed to find a suitable solution for all. It is important to us to share this review than it was more important to Ivanhoe Sea Safaris to keep the honor to themselves and having satisfied guests by cancel the trip with a payback of deposit than to sail out knowing there would not be much whales to see and most people getting sea sick. Whenever we wil have another opportunity to have another try to see whale up close on an open ocean we will not hasitate and book with Ivanhoe Sea Safaris again without doubt. Thank you Adrian for your patience and effort to get things right and done.

As experienced multiday hikers we booked this hike as a treat for my brother and his American girlfriend who are not hikers. We were all happy with the experience. The hiking is accessible for those who are not super fit and it is captivating enough to be interesting to seasoned hikers. The fynbos is stunning and the ups and downs are not too steep. We highly recommend getting to the peaks on the 2nd and 3rd days. The views are worth it! The path is well maintained and clearly marked. The accommodation is comfortable and if you take the catered option, the food is plentiful and delicious. Sarah looked after us really well so all we needed to do after a day on the mountain was relax. We also thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Ian who gave us a taster of his wealth of knowledge about the area. Next time we will definitely use a guide so we can have all our questions answered on the go. This is definitely a repeatable experience!
