Taste some of South Africa’s and the Worlds best whiskies.
The food and whiskey pairing was an awesome experience and very educational.

What a wonderful experience. Love the wine and pie pairing. Fresh homemade pies are made with care and so delicious. They have a variety of wines available

    Such a lovely Wine farm!
We came here as a family, on a rainy day in August. The hosts are so nice, friendly and very hospitable. The food offered during the tasting is delicious! The freshly baked bread and muffins were scrumptious!
They also make the preserves themselves. Hearing the stories behind each wine was also such a nice treat.
It was a wonderful trip out! It would’ve been nice to come when it was sunny, perhaps we could have seen more of the farm. But it was extremely cozy and relaxing with the rain.
Dan is a fantastic host! It was really great just chatting to him and learning more about the farm and the family history.
There was also this adorable little lamb in the house! Sooo cute!
Definitely a Wine farm I would recommend to visit!

We visited on Saturday 17 October 2020. Good wine and good service. The good experience started at the entrance gate where we were made to feel very welcome indeed. This is normally such a neglected area, but Diemersfontein can feel proud of their people. The wine tasting was good with very knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Excellent excursion, well worth a visit for an interesting summation of Wellington past and present. Open 8-5, Monday to Friday (ring the doorbell as the gate and door are closed by default) or by appointment on weekends. Allow about half an hour for a skim of the content.

Nice wine tasting experience with excelent wines to choose from and it fits any budget. Friendly staff. they could tell more about the history of the Cellar and surroundings. This place lend itself to become a nice small bouquet restaurant and perhaps this could be explored.

Just an superb overall experience! Not only is the wine exceptionally good, but so is the setting and the vibe. Very informative and super cozy. Our hostess, Charlene, wass very professional and extremely knowledgeable. A truly wonderful way to journey through not only wine tasting, but also to experience a real working vineyard/farm. I’ll be back!!

It was a perfect morning knowing Lazanou’s farm, in a personal conversation with Josef, the owner. He showed us the farm, the vineyards, how he cultivates with no chemicals. We ended the visit by tasting many of Lazanou’s prize-winning natural wines, learning from Josef himself the history behind the wines we were tasting and sharing our thoughts on each. It could not have been better!

Well marked trails - vineyard route and river route which are relatively easy to traverse. We also did a mountain bike route (white route) which we walked. It was magnificient. Some of the best views in the Cape. The White route took about 2 hours to walk and was steep in places but not difficult.

We were visiting Wellington and dropped off at the local tourist office to see what was recommended.
This lovely church is next door so we took the opportunity to pay it a visit.
The lady at the tourist office arranged for the caretaker to show us around and we found it very interesting.
The foundation stone of the church was laid in 1838. The first section of the building, which comprised only of the nave, started to be used in 1840 the year that Wellington itself was founded.
The vestry was added two years later and then two wings were added to the building in 1861. The impressive church tower was completed in 1895.
In 1923 a statue in honour of the Scot, Dr Andrew Murray, was erected at the front of the church. He was one of the pioneer theologians of the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa and moved to various congregations over the years, finally ending up in the Wellington church where he continued his work until his death in 1917. He was buried in the church gardens.
