What travellers are saying
- Susan STennessee430 contributionsTammy is absolutely adorable! So suited for her position to host guests as they taste through the wines. We had been here before back in 2015, and the estate is just as beautiful as ever. The wines are really good, especially when you have a very knowledgable host and one with such enthusiasm for their job. Love that beautiful smile Tammy and thank you for a memorable visit!
Be sure to book lunch at Stables Restaurant as well. The food is outstanding as well as the service.Written 2 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Poor tasting experience with robotic server interaction . However really enjoyed the pairingWritten 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Susan STennessee430 contributionsThis is a nice place with a unique addition of olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting. Our host Levi was very good, and the oils were nice as well. Wines were decent, and the property is very modern and sleek. Olive oils and vinegar are available for purchase along with the wines, of course!Written 2 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guy had memorized the tasting notes, but that is where it ended, no knowledge, no enthusiasm for the wines, just here you go, next wine. We will be back because we love the wines, but they need better people.Written 7 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RynoMulderLone Hill, South Africa72 contributionsStunning views of the mountains and ocean. Award winning wines served on European airlines business class made by a Swiss-Afrikaner couple. Absolutely get yourself some of their wines.Written 3 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MarichelSomerset West, South Africa107 contributionsBeautiful view and peaceful environment. You can build your own platters and wines are delicious. Staff is knowledgeable about wines, would suggest getting uniforms for them. Play area for kids also available.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sarah CAshtead, UK1Â 294 contributionsWe booked a wine tasting at Journey's End because friends had organised a charity event in the UK featuring the wines and we were double booked so could not attend. This was the next best thing. Mike the winemaker, gave us detailed instructions on how to reach the vineyard, the name is the clue, it is accessed up a shaky track but you are rewarded with lovely views and a sense of remoteness. This is very much a working vineyard (tastings by appointment) and we were pleased that Mike gave us so much of his time, explaining the background, the wines, and generally being engaging. We were so pleased we went out of our way to visit JE and wish everyone there happy winekmaking!Written 12 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Discover067751868141 contributionWINE TASTING:Worst ever experience, arrived with people looking at us, eventually lady showed us to walk throught the restaurant where guest were eating to go ... over there... which we had to figure out..lady poured us MCC and white wine..hot..left .. after walking past us five times.. we asked where is the sorbet..ooh i'm waiting for the kitchen..then a guy brought the lollies, and left. It was hot and the lollies was melting, no napkins or plate to put the Lollie stick in, when I flagged down a guy to help he brought one napkin..for 2 people and no plate..we had to call the lady and ask for the next 2 wines..and again waited for the Lollies, we got and i went to pay inside, just wanting to leave..with sticky hands from the dripping Lollies and she asked me what about a tip..really??? The only positive, the gentleman At at the gate that greeted us so nicely and asked about our experience. WE COME TO TRY THE EXPERIENCE FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL GUESTS, WE OWN SUPERHOST SA..NO THANK YOU!!!Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
