- 435brigittek20 contributionsThe best tasting we ever had. It was a combination of taste, very entertaining presentation and what the olive oil can be used for.
Will be in Robertson again by the end of this year. We will definitely pass by for tasting of the new oil and by then hopefully the olives (they were sold out already, when we were there)
Can recommend this place!Written 20 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We love New Zealand wines, from the Awatare Valley, and these ones are the closest we have found. Their red Cab Sav was also so smooth and desirable.
At the weekends, the office team stand in – and what fun they are! We loved it.Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Paulista668São Paulo329 contributions
This is a classy vineyard with an attractive restaurant and shop on the banks of the Breede river. You can buy picnic food and wine and take a river cruise that lasts about an hour. We were lucky that the boat was only half full and had a relaxing time in beautiful weather. Bring a hat and sunblock. It is very popular so visit on weekdays or before the crowds arrive.Written 14 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We managed to catch the end of these bright purple Jacaranda blossoms in their entranceway announcing that Summer (and December) is officially here.
As the first registered wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley, De Wetshof has become known internationally as South Africa’s eminent Chardonnay House due to the pioneering role it played in introducing this noble Burgundian grape to the country.
Modern cellar technology and the use of the finest oak barrels ensures that De Wetshof’s wines showcase the fact that they are committed to bottling the best versions of nature’s gift from the vine.
80% of the farm is planted to Chardonnay, with various clones matched to specific sites on the property aimed at optimal expression of terroir. Regenerative farming aims to conserve the environment while ensuring grapes of distinctive character and then there's the soil..
..On De Wetshof their limestone-rich soil is complemented by shale and clay, each soil component expressed in its own Chardonnay in the De Wetshof range.
The result?
Six diverse and damn fine Chardonnays!
We finished up the day with a tutorial with Bennie, in the De Wetshof Wine Library with a line-up of some of our favourite Estate Chardonnays:
~ Limestone Hill
~ Calcrete
~ Bon Vallon
~ Finesse / Lesca
~ The Site
~ Bateleur
Home to some of their rare bottled treasures of older and sought-after wines, it's a treat to experience tasting these exclusive wine in the intimate atmosphere of their Wine Library today and I would highly recommend this experience to my fellow Chardonnay-lovers out there.Written 3 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RussellMaidenhead, UK37 contributionsWe were travelling between Swellendam and Robinson, and popped in here for lunch.
Wouldn’t say it was an extensive menu, but others eating there were talking into Fine Fayr.e. Our salads were delicious chicken and pulled pork.
Very competitively priced and prompt and efficient service.

The Deluxe tasting option and the cheese and charcuterie board was a good combination. They brought out the champagne 2 glasses at a time. We absolutely love the wine tasting. Beautiful view over the valley. It is a family owned farm and the owner, his wife and daughter assisted with our tasting.
Newald the winemaker and owner had great stories about the farm and their wines.

We opted for the tasting given in the cellar which is a lot more expensive than the standard tasting, but felt you got little extra for the higher cost. The normal tasting gives you lots of good views over the vineyard and the valley for less money.Written 28 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Freda- Marizen JacobsRobertson, South Africa4 contributionsAs a local, I have never experienced and really tasted Robertson Winery's wines before. My friends call me a "wine snob" because I am opinionated about my wines. I know what I like and stick to that. I mostly visit the smaller cellars but today I was surprised by Robertson Winery. When you think of Robertson Winery, especially those of us in the industry, you think "bulk, cheap and cheerful" but man ooh man that's not true. We arrived at RW a little later and not only were the staff friendly but they were also incredibly patient with us. RW ticked a lot of boxes that impressed me but where I have to give the staff a 10/10 is that the wines were served at the perfect temperature. Between myself and my friends wine tasting there were only 2 wines, which is not for our palates. Furthermore, the wines were incredibly tasty and good. We also had a platter for two, it so much food we had to take a doggy bag with is, the olives were AMAZZZIIIINGGG. Thank you Maryke and staff, you all are amazing! - BestRegards FromFarCape Town Central, South Africa733 contributionsSuch an unexpected gem of a garden! The incredible wide variety of succulents and cacti blew our minds. It was educational and also impressive to see all these different plants growing here, some of them clearly several decades old. The nursery was interesting and we learnt a lo during the guided tour. Definitely worth your time!Written 8 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Disco552014Cape Town Central, South Africa15 contributionsMy wife and I recently got married. We were meant to stay at another place in Robertson for our honeymoon, but it didn’t work out for various reasons. We ended up going to Fraai Uitzicht and we had such a great time. The cottages were fantastic with a fire place in the room, very comfortable beds and a beautiful view from our stoep. The staff were all very friendly, delicious food and wines and very helpful owners. Great location too, lots of wineries close by and hikes which can be done from the property. All in all a really fantastic place which we highly recommend if you visit Robertson.Written 25 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
