What an awesome experience!!! Worth driving 2 hours to The Hell taking in the breathtaking scenery and friendly Klipspringers ;-)
And upon arriving meeting beautiful people - Marinette & Pieter as well as kids. Interesting info about The Hell. Awesome accommodation, delicious food and several items to buy as well as jam.
If possible, rather stay over for 2 nights at least.

    Suggestion:
Travel via De Rust and Meiringspoort towards Prince Albert. Take the Swartbergpas before Prince Albert towards The Hell.
When leaving The Hell, travel via the Swartbergpas towards Oudtshoorn.

In Oudtshoorn, don't forget to buy fresh Roosterkoeke at the robot crossing nearest from the Wimpy.

If you like cheese, then a visit to Gays Dairy is a must. The staff serving the cheese were very knowledgable, which was very refreshing! The shop also sells some local products. There is a seating area outside, and it is a very relaxing experience to spend some time there

Our Guide, Sue, gave us a very informative and in-depth explanation of the land formations and flora on it. The time scale we considered was a million years! and most events resulting in the landscape could not be experienced in a single human life time - too short.

Only R20 which I think is worthwhile to spend 30 mins looking at old things. Staff were on hand if you had any questions, but most of the items are self explanatory. If you have some time while in town, go and support them.
There is also a fossil room.

A wide variety of art. Worth a walk through and look at. The building is bright and spacious. Very interesting.

This venue is interesting on two counts - firstly, it houses the Karoo Looms weaving project and secondly, the building itself is noteworthy, as it served duty as a bioscope from the early 1900's onwards.
Today there is a weaving industry established here and beyond the foyer, where there are examples of finished work on show, you can see workers at the spinning wheels and the looms. A large mat was in the process of being made when we visited.
The interior with its high, steel-pressed ceilings and balcony are evidence of its previous function as an entertainment centre.

Called in on our way to Prince Albert and had a very nice welcome from the owner and his wife.
Enjoyed tasting the wines although unfortunately no whites were available.
Would just give feedback: all winefarms we visit do not charge for the winetasting if a product is bought.

My experience with the Prince Albert Tourist Information Centre was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. The staff's knowledge about the town and its attractions was impressive.

The most beautiful photographs of this country I have ever seen. Some canvassed, other not. Wish I'd had more time to enjoy them.
