It offers a dog park, fishing, non-motorized boating, hiking, biking, running, picnics (of course), shelters both open and rentable, ball diamonds and volleyball courts, and even a public golf course.
The addition of gravel walking/running paths a few years ago made the park even more enjoyable and you can run/ bike there from many of the excellent bike paths.

Wilderness Park
#7 of 13 Nature & Parks in Lincoln
The trail biking twists and turns on rough trail, though there is a long, straight crushed rock trail that goes the length of the park, too.
It's one of the last big parks where you can escape from the big hustle and bustle in Lincoln.

Beautiful little park.
Hamann Rose Garden

The whole park is small and intimate, a great place to walk and think and relax in beauteous surroundings smack in the middle of the capital of Nebraska.
We still enjoyed our walk among the roses and took time to just sit and enjoy the park.
