I was the only person on the tour and Alfredo made it very informative and comfortable. I could have a conversation with him and ask questions about old and modern history of Salvador. He knew where all the vista points were for photos of volcanos, lakes, etc along with advice on what restaurants to eat to enjoy a full experience of Salvador. Thanks Alfredo!

Our tour guide was Alexa , he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He told us about all the sites we visited and also shared with us a lot of histrionics and information about the country. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone coming to El Salvador

This was a GREAT tour! My best friend and I spent 3 days in El Salvador over a holiday weekend and wanted to see as much as we could while we were there. Our first night, our plans for Saturday fell through. Literally less than 12 hours before we were supposed to be picked up. Not only was I able to book with EC, but they responded on WhatsApp to confirm within an hour. Excellent and fast customer service.
Ricardo was our guide and he was excellent. Funny guy, super knowledgeable, told us about the history as well as general life and culture in El Salvador. The ruins were incredible and we learned so much! Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the volcano because of weather (it was so foggy!) but we still had a great time.
We did another EC tour the next day and that was also great. I recommend this company for tours, and I really enjoyed Ricardo as our guide.

Wonderful day exploring El Salvador’s Mayan ruins. Had to get an early start due to my ships early departure, so my guide Rafael drove me to Volcan de Santa Ana to see an incredible lake and wonderful views of Volcan Izalco before heading to Tazumal. Rafael was very knowledgeable about the Mayan ruins and provided great insight into the historical and archaeological sites. The highlight of the tour was Joya de Ceren. El Salvador is a beautiful country and Rafael’s pride was evident and infectious. Highly recommend Eco Tours Petate

I never went to the Mayan ruins, surf city, the lakes were already mentioned in previous reviews. These locations were not listed separately. The Santa ana volcano is a must see location and you can take a tour and climb the side of the volcano. When you reach the summit, you get a breathtaking view of the iake inside of this active volcano. It takes around 2 hours each way for this hike and a tour guide is required for around $50 per person. You also have to a pay a small park fee, as well. This may seem like a lot of money, but can you imagine doing this hike on a daily basis as your job in all types of weather conditions.
Lake Coatepeche is probably the most popular lake in all of ES. I could not believe all of the muliti million-dollar homes with their luxury boats on their private piers. There are a lot of nice restaurants to eat or small kiosk syle food locations, as well. I enjoyed going to this one restaurant that had a couple locations where you can swim within the complex. There is a kids swimming pool and a good place to take your family. You also must pull over on the side of the road and get a overall scenic photo of the entire lake at the summit. Once again, my favorite part of the visit was taking another scenic boat ride that only cost $25 for 2 people and I left at $6 tip here. The entire location is so beautiful, very clean, safe, inexpensive and a great place for some rest and relaxation.

Roberto was an amazing guide - so knowledgeable about the history and culture of his country! Also perfect English and a safe driver. Most of all, we made a great friend and really enjoyed our day. Restaurant in the volcano crater was awesome. 100 percent recommended.

Miguel was an excellent guide, thoughtful and informative, not only about Mayan culture and history, but also about more current histories of indigenous people in El Salvador. Joya de Cerén was fascinating as the "Pompeii" of the Maya, and Miguel took enough time explaining the site to us. We also enjoyed the other two Mayan sites San Andres and Tazumal as well as a scenic lunch overlooking the lake in Caldera De Coatepequ before heading back to our hotel. Our drive Julio was very smooth and careful. AA+++

Josue is an amazing tour guide. He was very patient and made sure we had the optimal experience. He has a witty sense of humor and is mutable. I honestly don't think our group could've had a better time without his input and timing suggestions. We had a full and memorable experience from the history of El Salvador paired with Mayan and volcano knowledge to a full city tour to a mesmerizing volcanoes and lake experience with jet skis. Our group will remember this day for years to come. When we come back he'll be our tour guide again! Thank you again Josue! Mucho gusto!

This was the first tour we did in El Salvador and we were lucky to be able to get a private option with Lisbeth as our guide. We were picked up at 830am prompt and off we went. We got to go to all three sites plus customize along the way to accommodate some of our needs. We learned so much and had a really nice session with a special guide at Tazumal who shared a lot of knowledge about the Mayans and the Nawat language that is getting a resurgence thankfully. We had a very nice lunch also at Lake Coatepeque. It is along day but if you are hungry for immersion and discovery and knowledge of the country, you can not miss this tour! Walter our driver was great. Lisbeth is a star! And you can;t go wrong with EC tours. :-)
