This inn gets our highest recommendation for so many reasons. The inn is in an old, well-maintained building with lots of charm but the rooms have a contemporary feel and are super clean. Although our room was small (Houston Room), the high ceilings made it feel more spacious. The grounds are beautiful, with lovely landscaping. Our room offered porch sitting with a view of the grounds - we felt we were in the midst of a park. If you plan to ride the Root River Trail (which we highly recommend) the inn is in a perfect location. Ride out from the convenient locked bike storage room in the back parking lot and the entrance to the trail is practically at your front door. Thanks to our hosts - Allie and Ryan - who were gracious and helpful but not intrusive in any way. This is a beautiful inn in an absolutely gorgeous place to ride!

We had a lot of fun seeing “Leading Ladies” at the Commonweal. There isn’t a bad seat in the house as it’s a smaller venue. If we lived closer I would get season tickets. You get a sense that the company really enjoys being part of the community and connecting people through the arts. Recommended!

Lanesboro Arts is a great resource for the Bluff country of southeastern Minnesota. They are providing valuable art experiences for children and adults in the area. The art exhibits in the gallery are filled with quality pieces by local artists. The programming at the St. Mane Theater are spectacular and entertaining for all ages and interests. Their connection to the surrounding community is infectious and vital. Be sure and check out their calendar of events. There is always something new to expand your view of yourself and the world.

The displays are on three floors and very well done. My daughter especially enjoyed the display on the upper floor of vintage medical equipment used by doctors and dentists in Lanesboro. There was a 1940s dental x-ray machine, an early 1900s medical light/lamp and a 1940s travelling EKG machine.

The person working there was very friendly and you could tell the pride that the volunteers take in the museum.

I will gladly stop back when I'm in the area again.

Drove through it to check it out near the water falls. It looks fantastic. No onsite showers or bathrooms but you can go to the community center near by.

The proprietor consistently offers top shelf selections that are immaculately cared for. You will find Annual and Perennial herbs, vegetables, and flowers seldom found in other local establishments. The green house on 16 is no longer open, but rather, the plants can be found during the growing season, from April through August, at the Parkway Market and Coffeehouse, downtown Lanesboro, Mn.

I’ll have to admit I get to the place and think what is this place. Then my friend and I call him up and ask for more information. Ken not only dropped what he was doing and helped us with our questions and took our reservation for the day. Later that day we realized we wouldn’t have time to kayak so we called him up and he was more than understanding and said no problem and rescheduled for a later hour.

Ken is very personable and willing to answer questions not only about kayaking but camping, eating and tourist attractions around the area and most of all with a smile on his face. Very trustworthy and already recommended him to a friend.

My wife and I took this tour while camping in the area. Our guide was Vern and he did a fantastic job. Very informative about the Amish and the area. He was a very good speaker and answered all questions. You will go to a number of working Amish farms and have the chance to purchase some of the items they have for sale. While this may seem that this is strictly a guided shopping trip if was also entertaining. Also keep in mind that this is an important source of income for the farms.

I have been to Sylvan several times as it has become our favorite "go to" brewery. Last time we visited, we had a surprise party in the Grain room. It was the perfect place! Karen & Tatiana were so accommodating and helpful with all of our requests. They were very helpful in telling everyone about the beer and helping people pick out the perfect one. This a great brewery! Indoor/Outdoor seating, with fire pits in the winter. It has lots of character leftover from the original Grain elevator.

Holly was wonderful.. her knowledge of the Amish is incredible.. she knows the families on a personal level.. if we had driven we would never have found any of the shops..we were able to go into an Amish home where a fine woman makes quilts and sews many smaller items..the bakery was wonderful... the shop next door has baskets and so much more.. our final shop had beautiful furniture and gift items... the Amish children were remarkable.. we picked out a number of huge puzzle pieces which fit together— you add photos to each one.. Holly and the children helped find many which would work together... one boy wrote up the sales slip in handwriting not printing!! All the children were so helpful... when you choose which places you wish to visit be certain to ask for the big shop with the talkative children...

Came for an extended weekend for hiking, kayaking and whatever moved us! Came across Eagle Bluff where they offer this ropes course. We did not sure up for that but we did take full advantage of the trails they had to offer! Great place to explore for the nature lover.

Very friendly and affordable. Due to Covid they are not renting helmets or canoes. So bikes it is! Surreys are all broken and kid at counter said its because the company who makes the Surrey (4 person pedal car) no longer in business. We rented bikes and really enjoyed our trip. Little river is right on the trail. Everything was easy and bike selection was great.

This is one fun little course. It is very hilly but not overly challenging. Every time I manage to get to Lanesboro I make a point to play this course. You get great views from up on the hill it is located on. The little clubhouse is kind of cool too in a small town way. Just be sure to bring your own clubs. I tried to rent a set last time I was there as I was not able to bring mine, they didn't have any rental clubs at all.

This is dangerous and not like a lazy river ride at all. We were really surprised to hear that if you don’t steer in the rapid water kayaks / canoes can get stuck upside down under trees that fall across the river.
