Impressive collection, for a museum and city this size-- good sample Impressionism, post-Impressionism, some top notch Expressionist works, a large large modern collection.

There's two categories of children's museums: those that are exhibit based with opportunites for kids to engage, and those that are opportunities for kids to engage, maybe with some exhibits.
We enjoy taking my 4yo to this museum when we are in Grand Rapids! It's always clean and well-staffed, and the exhibits rotate out to keep things fresh!

Visited the Michigan Masonic Museum & Library located in the Grand Rapids Masonic Center.
The museum has some very old and interesting artifacts.
