What travellers are saying
- TimcitoBay Village, OH54 contributionsOur visit to the Detroit Institute, Sunday, October 1, 2023, was most rewarding and fascinating. GREAT MURALS BY DIEGO RIVERA. One of the most recognized Mexican Muralists, Diego Rivera, fills the four large walls with his paintings and perspectives of industrial Detroit during the 1930s. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.
The entire museum held myriad exciting works of art and did not disappoint!Written 25 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Experiencing this tour was a natural high and makes Motown history so alive! Our tour guide also taught us how to do the Temp's 2 step. In addition, the Museum's store is also five star.
Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. We accepted their offers to take photos of us!Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark PSwampscott, MA2 528 contributionsThe river walk runs along the Detroit River. It is a genuinely nice way to enjoy the scenery and walk, run or bike. I try to include a visit to the river walk on my trips to Detroit.Written 27 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brittany K3 contributionsWe loved every second of our tour. Didn’t know what we were getting into, but boy, Tom made it well worth it. We could’ve stayed hours longer listening to his knowledge and stories! Absolutely worth it. Request Tom for your guide. You won’t regret it. Will return to see there progress… its already come a long way!!!Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our experience was such a memorable event to share with our kids and grandkids! Our server, Gwen, was awesome! It was expensive, but we are at a stage in life of “ Hey! Can’t take it with us so let’s enjoy it while we can!” Especially with our grandkids! MONSTER JAM was awesome and we can’t wait to go back next year!
Go ! get a suite! Enjoy! Gwen… thank you!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only our second ever visit to the city, appears to have gone to a new make over, clean, no street people, no gangs and removal/demolition of the abundance of old buildings.
This was our first visit to Belle isle, very nice. You could tell it has been abandoned for years but renovations are slowly underway, very large nice nature center and many pathsWritten 5 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The museum provides a very good overview, of the past and present history of the city, and state of Michigan. The museum shares with its guests, stories of the city of Detroit, and the many “best in class” innovations, architecture, music and so much more! What you learn during your visit, is not only interesting, but will enhance your visit to the Motor City!Written 21 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - popcornblahClermont, FL241 contributionsWhat a gem! I truly wish I had something like this in my city. What an amazing foodie gift to the people of Detroit, this is a place that exceeded my expectations. Really loved interacting with the vendors and the food people. They are very proud of what they are selling And they should be. If you are a foodie or just interested in Detroit culture, this is a must stop. It was very fun to pick up little treats and bites to return back to our hotel and enjoy the flavor of Detroit.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marcainWashington DC, DC225 contributionsVery active one-block Greektown. Not very Greek, but quite active and interesting. On the Sunday evening that we were there, the police were setting up mobile metal-detectors at each end of the street around 7p- not sure why.Written 15 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
