- Andy BNew Jersey343 contributionsTop knotch course. We'll maintained and very scenic. You can even see the Chesapeake Bay from the course and clubhouse. I played this course today on October 31 in a charity outing. Course staff was friendly. The facility has an awesome chipping and putting practice area. The pro shop is well stock and the restaurant/bar is awesome. I'd definitely recommend this course for stroke play or tournaments.Written 31 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AteenjarJoppa, MD30 contributionsMy friend and I did this together, and we totally enjoyed it. Surprisingly, the harnesses weren't uncomfortable and it was a smooth ride in the boat and up above the boat. I agree - it was a little difficult to find them but I confirmed through email and called them to get directions after we got to Havre de Grace.Written 5 September 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marvi62Horsham, PA623 contributionsThree of us went on a private 2-1/2 hour afternoon sail yesterday on Moon Shadow, a 34' sailboat. Our captain, Brian, and first mate, David, have years of sailing experience and are licensed, so we were completely comfortable on the boat. They explained safety procedures and showed us the lifejackets and flotation gear as well. During our sail, Captain Brian kept an eye on the radar, as the forecast was a little iffy. We have been on numerous chartered day sails over the years, and this ride was great - relaxing, safe, well maintained boat.
For this season, Moon Shadow is primarily operating on the weekends, with some Thur and Fri night options. The boat is allowed to carry up to 6 passengers (US Coast Guard regulation). You can sit in the cockpit or up front towards the bow (there were 3 very comfortable cushions with arms and backs that you can sit on). The boat has a head (bathroom), but you can also use the bathrooms at the marina (someone has to let you in - they are locked) or stop at the Havre de Grace Visitors' Center 1/2 mile away and use their bathroom.
There is free street parking (corner of Girard and Concord Sts) outside the Havre de Grace Marina at the Log Pond, where the Moon Shadow is docked. The marina is at the south of the Susquehanna River, where it flows into the Upper Chesapeake Bay.
