What travellers are saying
- NHjoSaco, ME14 314 contributionsWe live only a few miles from Old Orchard Beach (OOB), so I'll give you a 'local's' point of view. The beach itself is very nice, and you can walk to several other beaches (Pine Point, Ocean Park, Ferry Beach, etc.). The beach is right off the arcade and the village, where there are several restaurants, fast food places, and bars (good and not so good), shops, amusements, and so on. It's particularly nice at night when there are fireworks once or twice a week and all the neon lights are on. Kids love this place. There are plenty of hotels, inns, B&Bs, and condo rentals. You're also close to some great restaurants, bars and shops in Saco, Biddeford, and Scarborough, and it's not far from Portland or Kennebunkport. Some consider OOB and its arcade and pier 'tacky', but it depends on how you look at it. It can be tacky, but it's a lot of fun. The pier is historic and has seen better days, but it's a marvel. Tons of French-Canadians come to OOB every summer, and it's more popular than ever, especially after Covid.Written 30 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME14 314 contributionsOctober has some gorgeous sunsets that reflect on the ocean at Old Orchard Beach and Pier. I took some shots of the beautiful pink, purple, and ice blue colors under and near the pier.Written 20 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Holly @ LoveAtFirstSite.blogNewport, VT320 contributionsWe took the plunge this 4th of July and bought the unlimited passes for our two teen and preteen girls. While paying 40 something each, that really is the going price for an amusement park. And since we had the whole day, they definitely go their money's worth.
We went early in the day on the 4th and it was perfect. Not many lines causing more than a 5 minute wait for a ride. They got to ride every ride they wanted as many times as they wanted.
We were camping nearby so decided to go back to camp to eat dinner then come back down for the fireworks and more rides. When we got back down there around 7 pm the amusement park was very crowded. They then had to wait 20 to 30 minutes to get on a ride. This was to be expected since it was 4th of July fireworks night and we were told it was the most amount of people they'd had there since pre-covid. We were just glad they had gotten to ride so many rides earlier on in the day.
As the evening went on and the fireworks finished, we had to wait a bit for the campground trolley so our girls did do more rides. But this time of night the park got rowdier with fights and drunks. Definitely not a nighttime scene for kids.
All in all, we had a great time and will be visiting again, during daylight hours.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I took a few photos of the incredible interior, which is barn-like with lots of beams and rafters. The 1881 temple is Maine’s only octagonal community church. I also took a few photos of the Temple Garden and Pergola across the street. There's a meditative pathway through the arbor that leads to the 1921 pergola. The whole complex is called Temple Square and consists of the Temple, Porter Memorial Hall, Jordan Memorial Hall, and the Temple Garden and pergola.Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally G1 contributionPirates Cove Miniature Golf was a great place to spend time with my 8 year old grandson while on vacation. There are 2 courses to choose from. We came 2 days in a row so we could play both courses. Both were a lot of fun.Written 20 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Antoine SLebanon,Beirut249 contributionsWhen you get to the location
You will be astonished by the decoration
All the walls and ceilling are well decorated
You feel that your are in a big palace and the wedding is for a prince,
Yes it is a royale wedding.
Did the event planner did it?or
The location is well decorated?

Lone Pine won a gold medal at the 2023 World Beer Cup recently for their Imperial Maple Sunday. As much as I love maple and craft beer, I found this too sweet for my tastes, but the blueberry sour was good. The beer garden hasn't really changed from what it was before, except for the new branding, etc. They also have an indoor space and plan to be open year-round and serve more food options. The prices are a bit higher than at their location in Portland, but that's probably because it's in OOB.Written 24 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Resie82Scarborough, Maine, United States54 contributionsNice course with an interesting layout but it's not female friendly. There is one port-a-potty on the 13th hole and it's disgusting. Getting to the clubhouse between 9 and 10 involves going way out of your way. There used to be a snack shop/bathroom near the 9th green but that is gone, replaced with yet another housing development. They keep squeezing in more and more houses so close to the holes. No wonder many of them have put up nets to protect their patios. Also, no water on the course and again going to the clubhouse at the turn to buy something is well out of the way. No beverage cart on a Sunday either. They do have a nice clubhouse and restaurant.Written 12 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
