Close to downtown and still and excellent trail, next to the lake, Spokane River, neighborhoods, parks and even more sculptures that you pass along the way.
We utilized bikes from McFarland B & B headed to McEuen Park connected to the Centennial trail & followed all along Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive all the way to Higgins boat launch.

The trails are well marked as you enter the nature preserve , with lots of choices to stay close to the lake or hike another 200' max higher to get some great views of the lake and forests.
My Husband and I enjoy hiking in our free time, so this quick little nature trail was great for a quick hike outside by the lake.

the park is lovely and large with lots of green grass, play area for the kids, picnic tables and a great beach just feet away with a wonderful view of the most beautiful lake in north Idaho.
We grew up by the park, Independence Point the beauty has always been awesome to see an adventure in.

The park has free parking, restrooms, a children's play area, duck & fishing pond, & trails to the dam that was built in the early 1900's with historical signage.

By going there you can see beautiful and exotic species of trees, enjoying your afternoon by the lake in the middle of the park and see the different and beautiful shades of colors!
I love how different areas of the park have different trees from those regions.
