Great park: close to a small city with excellent shopping and restaurants, but also an easy introduction to the beautiful natural landscapes of North Florida.
Encounter nature on its own terms - the gators are a few feet away, the bison and horses may cross your path, and the birds live their lives as you walk along the trail!

What a great addition to G'ville parks, beautiful walkways and boardwalks, gorgeous views of the wetlands, so many fabulous birds and some huge gators.
What a fantastic collaboration - science and nature, city and nature, public and nature - a great place to walk, take pictures or just sit and watch the clouds and the birds go by!

What a lovely park like little zoo! Staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful, etc. Nice little playground.
The center of the park has picnic benches for adults and a small playscape that the five year olds in our party had a blast using.

There's 2 cute little bridges, huge areas of bamboo throughout the park, areas for picnics, dogs on leash friendly park, pond, children's garden, vinery areas and more.
A must see for plant lovers, gardeners, walkers, and everyone needing a little quiet time in nature.

Outstanding feat of nature
We love park nearby and walk over right before dusk to watch the mass exodus of bats flying out for the night.

An awesome trail which is family and handicapped friendly and a wonderful place to view unspoiled nature.
La Chua is a well-maintained nature trail where you can see lots of wildlife in the natural habitat.

A great park with a covered Pavillion with tables and grills, wheel chair accessible walks, a wonderful children’s playground with unique opportunities to climb, run, slide and spin, designed to encourage creativity.
This really is a gem of a park, with pavilions for rent, great bicycle trail, playground, water feature, music stage, picnic spots, weekend store for food items and a bar .

My family and I love hiking the trails at Devil's Millhopper...we love to go down into the sinkhole and see how nature reclaimed the land.
If you aren't physically fit and want to simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the forest and sinkhole you can walk the nature trail that circles it and gaze down from the top of the stairs.

We liked how there are hiking trails maintained by Alachua County Parks and the State Park Service along the bike trail that we could get off the bikes for a bit and walk.
I love to park in the La Chua Trail parking area and start from there.

I’m sure In 6 months the park will be paved and ready for everyone, but for right now it’s like walking threw mountains of beach sand.
Don't miss visiting and help them finish the park pathways, illumination and landscaping.

The Morningside Nature Center is a wonderful property on which to take a hike.
Enjoyed a pleasant walk around the park on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon.
#16 of 24 Nature & Parks in Gainesville
This park is essentially an acre field in size with the large oak tree and a few other large trees.
#17 of 24 Nature & Parks in Gainesville
The large trees and abundant other plants makes this a beautiful park to be in, and I am sure watching your pet play here will give you great pleasure.
Be aware young children are not alalowed in the park.

A wonderful Nature Park to relax and disappear into nature!
We were a little confused while we were walking the trails as there is only one map near the entrance of the park.
#21 of 24 Nature & Parks in Gainesville
It might be a great place for bird watching, and after going there I have purchased binoculars (didn't arrive yet, as soon as they do I'll go back to this park!).
There are benches around the park where you can sit and look out over Newman Lake.

Wonderful for a cool break under the trees, this park is accessible year round.
I AM PROUD TO HAVE GOTTEN THIS PARK ON TRIPADVISOR AND PROUD ALSO TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO REVIEW IT.
