Shelburne itself is a great place to visit, just for the views over the bay, but there is plenty to explore here and the Museums do a great job of presenting the history of the town.
We especially enjoyed meeting Milford, the master boat builder at the Dory museum and the costumed tour guides in the historic home run by the merchants of Shelburne.

We took our young grandson and his parents and while the youngster was enthralled with the animal displays, especially the lion, giraffe an polar bear, there were many other very interesting museum quality exhibit...
There are rooms dedicated to trappers and settlers from days gone by, as well as an apothecary museum and an outhouse museum!

I find small local museums like this just a treat.
While I agree with the previous reviewers who found the little museum a bit limited in value, I hope that anyone who has ancestry in Queens County will ensure that they spend a few hours in this little research gem.
