There are a few great lookout points. However, in peak summer season, there may be limited parking at, for example, Sandy Beach. We stayed at a property that had its own private beach with free to use paddle-skis, canoes and pedal, boats. Awesome.

North Tahoe Beach is a small beach on Lake Tahoe's north side, as the name implies. It is immediately to the west of highway 267. There is a small picnic area next to it, as well as rest rooms. Parking is limited.
The views are gorgeous. As beaches go, it's okay, but we weren't here for the beach. On a grassy area next to the beach, is a sculpture of Lake Tahoe. It's a stone sculpture depicting the depth and shape, along with pertinent facts about the lake. This is what we came to see. We were there in May, and it was a bit chilly, since the lake is set in mountains, so we almost had the beach to ourselves that day. Warmer days, I suspect that this would be packed.

What treat we had. Pete and Johanes were amazing guides, we had a small group on our Sand Harbour Kayak Tour and they made it fun, interesting and interactive, we had such a blast, they were skillful, knowledge and great fun to be on tour with. I was not great at kayaking and kept bumping into the instructors. They didn't care and helped me improve my technique.
The place itself was out of this world, no words can really describe the beauty, clarity of water, beach and surrounding forest, it was stunning. The best trip we loved it and so did our 12 year old.
Thank you team. Would highly recommend!

Lake Tahoe Snowmobile Tours is the best snowmobiling tour company in the Tahoe area. The machines are new, the guides are not only very seasoned and knowledgeable but fun and entertaining as well. Get the best views of the lake with a small group of adventurers like yourself! They offer private tours as well if you are not a new rider :)

What a great family experience for the young and old! I loved how it’s a self-service mix of both zip lining and obstacles. The lines are rated easy, mid and hard by colors. It was very user friendly. Once you start a course, there is no turning back, you have to finish the course. I only attempted the green and blue ones, didn’t want to risk a black diamond with my tennis elbow. I do suggest brining gloves bc my palms were really sore from gripping the ropes so hard. The staff were friendly and very informative. Someone is always around the entire course to help if anyone gets stuck. Lots of spectators walking around too, if you don’t want to do the course.

There’s no denying that the service and boats from Grand Tahoe Charters are top-class. Being out on Lake Tahoe aboard their vessel was an unforgettable experience.

However, the way we were greeted upon arriving at the dock was shocking, uncalled for, and frankly, unforgettable—but for the wrong reasons.

Yes, we were a bachelor party. Yes, we communicated this during the booking process. And yes, we were a group of men between the ages of 35 and 50. This wasn’t a stereotypical wild bachelor party showing up unannounced.

When we arrived, the first thing they asked was if we were a bachelor party. When we confirmed, we were met with skepticism and an unwelcoming tone. We were then told—after having paid in full, made various arrangements to get there early—that they normally don't accept bachelor parties. On top of that, they emphasized there could be no "wrestling" aboard the boat.

Not exactly the welcoming start we expected for such a highly anticipated and expensive experience. To be clear, were we loud, belligerent, rude, or behaving inappropriately? Absolutely not. We were pleasant, polite, and simply excited for the day ahead.

Things only got more complicated when, one hour into our two-hour charter, there was an issue with one of the engines. I had to approach the captain to ask why we were moving so slowly, and only then did he admit to a mechanical problem. About 20 minutes later, he finally addressed the group, informing us that we’d need to cut the trip short to save the engine. We completely understood the need to mitigate risks for both the boat and its passengers. However, it was frustrating that we, as paying guests, had to investigate the problem ourselves. If guests are expected to uphold certain decorum, shouldn't we expect a similar level of communication and professionalism in return?

I’m sharing this experience not just to air grievances but to offer constructive feedback. It’s a relatively simple fix to avoid these kinds of situations: instead of confronting guests at the dock, how about a phone call after booking or a day or two before the trip to explain any rules or expectations? A respectful conversation upfront could prevent any unpleasant surprises.

The legendary boats of Grand Tahoe Charters, combined with the premium price for the experience, shouldn’t lead to the experience we had. Once we cleared up their assumptions and got out on the water, it was indeed one-of-a-kind—minus the engine malfunction and early return. They only charged us for one hour instead of two, which we ultimately thought was fair. I recommend Grand Tahoe Charters because there’s no doubt they should be five out of five stars every time, and that everyone and everything sometimes have an off day. Based on all the other reviews, I think that's all this was.

Rented both a SUP and a kayak. Location was on the beach and the owner Sam was great to work with. Would recommend to friends and family.

This is the second year in a row we've rented from Rent-A-Boat Lake Tahoe. Had a great experience both times. Staff is terrific, especially Taylor and Ashley and all the guys out on the water! This year we rented the 23' Chaparral for 4 hours. What a beast! We drove it the entire length of the Lake all the way to Emerald Bay, then came all the back to North Shore and still had time to take the kids out in the pull toy inflatable. What a blast! We will do this again next summer.

Such a relaxing afternoon and a great way to see multiple beaches and coves in the north and east part of the lake! Captain Syd was super laid back and personable. She also had some fun facts and history about the lake. We were able to stop wherever and anchor. That way, we could swim, explore, and do some rock jumping! They provide a cooler and ice. We brought snacks, water and drinks on board. I would say that having the pontoon boat in the afternoon was the top highlight of our trip!

Wonderful day spent on Lake Tahoe sailing with Captain Sandy and John aboard a gorgeous sailing yacht. They keep the passenger limit small so the experience is very private and comfortable.
Great conversation, music, snacks and amazing scenery on pristine Lake Tahoe. We felt that the value was excellent as well. Don't miss a chance to get out on the Lake with Bon Voyage.
