- Lynn NDelta, Canada167 contributionsA challenging workout , but totally worth it! The views were spectacular along the way to the top. Go early in the morning so it won’t be too hot as you hike. Wear appropriate shoes and bring lots of water.Written 20 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Dirk PRoseland, NJ5 contributionsIt was recommended to take a trip to Idyllwild, so glad we decided to make the trip. - advcardsReno, NV3 218 contributionsWe think this is the best street fair of all the different ones in the Palm Springs area. This year was definitely smaller than it had been in past years prior to Covid. Overall easy in and out plenty of parking in quite a few vendors along with food trucks. Takes about an hour and a half to go through it at a reasonable pace.Written 13 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MNM1011Decatur, IL2 839 contributionsGreat spot to pull off the mountain road and just enjoy the vista of the Coachella Valley. However, the scenery is marred by all the litter that is strewn about. There are plenty of trashcans available, but some folks choose to ignore them. - Jim FToronto, Canada255 contributionsWhile staying in Palm Desert, if I felt I needed some exercise from a hike this was my go to trail. Doing a loop takes about 1.5 hours. There is lots of parking. You get a good view from the top. I have done this hike more than 20 times.Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- lovethesightschicago247 contributionsSo my hubby wanted to "see" the fault so we ventured to PD from PS. As were approached we saw a bunch of very tall green palm trees and thought it odd. Come to find out from our docent, there is a huge plate of underground water that feeds these enormous palms that the dinosaurs used to eat so those palms have been around for a very long time. It is a weird experience to walk the trail and be transported to a very wet environment while being in a desert. The trail itself is very walkable and you'll be done in about 30 minutes depending on the trail you choose. There are bathrooms available.Written 5 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- dnalecizMoreno Valley, CA404 contributionsAs we pass through Palm Desert, California on our way home for a long road trip. Our guidebook provided information about the Desert Holocaust Memorial. As this was Memorial Day, we elected to pay our respects at this Memorial. The Memorial is a beautiful tribute to those 6 million individuals who lost their lives during the reign of Nazi terrorism in Europe during World War II. A Circular row of trees encompasses the memorial. The trees represent life outside the concentration camps. A bronze plaque provides a brief history of life during this terrible period of history. A brass urn containing the names of thousands of people, who assisted the Jews during the period is congealed within the pedestal. The center of the memorial consists of seven bronze figures of individuals. A standing man, a mother with two children. a child from the ghetto, a praying Jewish Rabbi and man dying alone. Each figure represents a different aspect of life for the victims. Defiant, begging for mercy, praying and finally death. Truly touching and sad. All seven figures are located on a Black Star of David. A map depicting the location of various concentration camps and the number of individuals who died at each camp is engraved on a granite block. The story of the Holocaust is told on eleven large bas relief blocks. The saddest one depicts malnutrition individual standing behind a barbwire fence. This memorial mourns the loss of these innocent individuals and projects hope that this terrible event will never happen again. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to visit numerous Concentration Camps in Europe, and many Holocaust Memorials across America. This Desert Holocaust Memorial in Palm Desert is truly remarkable and is the most touching I have visited. If you do not leave this memorial with tears in your eyes, you wasted your time here. As a Jew, I can only say “Rest in Peace & Never Again”. נוח על משכבך בשלום. לעולם לא עוד.Written 4 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The terrain of the main garden has been altered to create mini hills and valleys lined with varying sizes of rocks, ranging from boulders to sand. There are real water features, including a fountain and a waterfall, and take note of the blue "water" pattern in the curving concrete pathways. From a distance, I thought it was painted, but it's actually pieces of blue glass embedded in the concrete. Sculptures blend with the garden elements, and invite your own interpretation.Written 30 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John MDallas, TX6 contributionsJust south of Bump and Grind, this trail is very easy. Completed in a little over an hour with very little elevation change. More animals and vegetation than Bump and Grind. We were there on a Tuesday and had the trail to ourselves, literally. This would be a good hike for beginners or people with children. The visitor center was closed when we were there, so plan accordingly (i.e. restrooms before you arrive). It was warm, so bring water and appropriate clothing.Written 24 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
