What was great was you can just park in the parking lot and watch the waves, or encourage the fisherman, and the beach has an unusual dark or black sand compared to many of the beaches around.

The zoo is easily seen within a few hours or you could spend more time by relaxing and having a picnic or playing at the park within the zoo.
The parking lot was full but the Valet parking people just let us park there, which was so nice and thoughtful ... even though there was a crowd it flowed easily and we could see the animals clearly.
