The Getty Center was well worth a visit! I was in LA for an event and had a few hours available on a Sunday afternoon. I scheduled a visit to the Getty (it's free, but you need a reservation) and wasn't disappointed. I didn't know what to expect, and it seemed almost like an amusement park when you first arrive after parking ($20 to park) because of how you need to go through lines to get onto the shuttle that takes you up to the center. But that's all part of the anticipation. Once you arrive, everything is sophisticated and efficient. The views of LA from the top of the hill, as well as the beautiful buildings and artwork are awe inspiring. The staff was very helpful in explaining to me how to get around and where to go. The gorgeous art was plentiful and beautiful to view in different buildings. Don't miss the garden area. I would definitely return.

Parking was easy, $10/hour, eventhough a busy place, didn't have a problem finding a place when the Observatory was closed. Great views of LA, we spent about 30-45 minutes one evening walking around.

We had a great day at Universal, some lines were long but that is to be expected. Jurassic World ride, Water World show and the Harry Potter area were the highlights.

The biggest negative was the wait for food and drinks. The day we were there, all the restaurants in the Simpsons and Harry Potter areas were closed. When we inquired, a staff member confirmed that half of the restaurants were closed. We had to wait in line 50 minutes at the Minions Cafe for lunch. If you want a drink or popcorn at a cart, that would also take at least 30 minutes. It was really ridiculous. We expect a line for rides, but shouldn't have to wait that long for something to eat or drink.

My friend, a car enthusiast bought tickets to this museum. I like cars, but I'm not a fanatic car lover. With that said, found this museum to be excellent. Layout is 3 floors, you start at the top and work your way down. All cars nicely presented with a description, history and the great part for me was the movie or visual that helps connect you to the car.

The museum has a garage to park, but if you drive around the local streets with houses there is free parking. We visited on a Saturday at about 1:30, it was a little too crowded for me, would be much better during the weekday to avoid crowds. My only criticism would be: we purchased tickets in advance, you should not have to wait in the common line which was quite long with the people that need to take the time to purchase tickets. No advantage!
The museum is definitely worth a visit to all who absolutely love cars and those who just like cars.

Just to note, my friend loved this museum so much, he said if we were locals he would buy a membership to revisit the special shows they exhibit!

This is the best part of Universal and why we went. They need more rides or make the hippogriff one longer for instance and with more entertainment value. But the other HP ride is amazing, one of the best I've ever been on. Navigating the lockers for your items was not lovely, so go early on this ride before you've bought wands and things that might not fit in there. However, I could stay in that part of the park all day. Should have just stayed there; and just went and played with the wands. The food at 3 broomsticks is great and so is the butterbeer. The robes for sale need to be better fabric, they were too itchy so we opted out.

Preserved historic battleship a great addition to the area sites. Be prepared for lots of steps during this tour! Not mobility challenged friendly.

A nice selection of stores sprinkled with a bit of “old Hollywood” charm. Very walkable and pleasant (or as pleasant as offline shopping can be).

We walked around the area outside the museum to look at the natural tar pits and other exhibits. Loved it..something you do not see in museums. We did not do the museum since we have been to many and they all sorta repeat. So I cannot review their museum.

Interesting building inside and out - sweeping curves of metal on the exterior makes for a striking aesthetic. Worth a visit and the self guided tour was informative. Shame the main hall was closed at the time of our visit.

On a non-school day, my granddaughter and I visited the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Tickets must first be purchased online, selecting day and time of planned visit. Face masks must be worn at all times, except when eating.
We also reserved tickets for the "Becoming Jane" exhibit on Jane Goodall. We both enjoyed the exhibit, which included a tent simulating what Jane lived in when she was in Africa. My granddaughter really enjoyed mimicking the chimpanzee's sounds alerting that a snake is nearby. There is a small restaurant to get a snack or lunch and plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating. The gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs, toys, gifts.

I’d love to hike it up again. Walking around, enjoying the view I think at 86 degree heat was nice. I went alone and saw another hiker that was also taking pictures and she asked me to help her take her photos. I was like only if you take my photo too! It was nice, after that we hiked together for a bit since we were going the same way. I entered from the top while she parked at the bottom. This was both our first time and from different cities. She told me about the tough hike up. I was just gonna do a short back and forth but since she did it, I wanted to do it too. So I circled up and felt the strenuous incline and saw different water station for dogs. Like a bowl by a tree, with water left by other hikers into a bowl.

I definitely stay hydrated and went up with my new Nike oneota be true sandals. They were pretty great for this hike.

I look forward to the next time I come around.

I’ve lived in Southern California my entire life, and I never knew Venice Canals neighborhood existed until a friend took me. I’ve seen it in TV series and never bother to research the location. It’s pretty nice here for a stroll and it’s very very quiet. Landscape is amazing. The only set back is outside of this neighborhood where you park your car are filled with homeless encampment.
