Beautiful. Not crowded. Many trails you can take but the main loop is the best part of the park. Recommend checking out davenport beach afterwards.

As lovers of cryptozoology, upon learning there was a Bigfoot Discovery Museum near where we were going on our California Roadtrip, of course, Roguetrippers had to plan a visit.

This is a small building owned by the curator of the museum. The little red building is well signed, and easy to find - the bigfoot statues outside ensure of that.
The curator created this museum to share his own passion for the search for bigfoot.
He has artefacts, articles, research papers, and other items to help explain to visitors why there may be truth behind the existence to bigfoot or a bigfoot-like creature.

This museum is small and independently owned and operated without any outside funding - so when you visit - while the museum is technically free - Donations are appreciated. Be a decent traveller and pop a few bucks into the donation jar to keep this museum alive.

There is limited parking - remember it is just one man's private building.
The parking is not an issue as there is not likely to be a lot of visitors at one time.

It won't take a long time to go through this small museum, but the more you want to learn, the longer it will be. The curator has a lot to say on the topic of Bigfoot.

The gentleman who owns the museum is more than happy to talk to his visitors about his experiences, research, and passions. Come with an open mind, have good questions, and be willing to learn.
    The truth is out there.

Got here early at 8am to get a kayak, (they only have 4) reasonably priced at $15.00 for 2 hrs. Serene, quiet couples time. We are elderly so getting in and out was difficult especially with bad knees so I would recommend a row boat, the seats are higher and the same price. A beautiful walking path around the shoreline, dogs are ok on a leash but can’t enter the water or boats. We will be back!

More of a sense of adventure in the Fall Creek Unit, almost no one on the upper trails to Big Ben, lots of pools and log bridges to explore.

We stayed in a cabin. It was very clean. Guests need to bring their own linens, utensils, etc. It does have a kitchen sink, small refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave. There is a table with two chairs. The living area has a couch and fireplace (Duraflame logs only). The bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet. There is a porch, picnic table and firepit outside. The bedroom has a full size bed and a good size closet, with several large drawers. There is a loft, probably best for young children. It has a weight limit of 150 pounds. It has a ladder that has to be pulled down. We didn't look up there.
We were in a river cabins. Not all cabins are the same. Some don't have a full size bed, only bunk beds. Some might not have a bathroom in the cabin. If you plan to stay in a cabin, it would be wise to check.
The campground has level sites, and not as close or small as others have posted. I have had a motorhome in campgrounds that had MUCH tighter sites. The campground is next to Henry Cowell state park, and there are several trees in the campground. There are hiking trails accessible from the campground. The roads in the campground do go up some hills, so it can be a bit strenous walking there.
All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

We were driving south on CA-9 on a Tuesday & most brew pubs & cafes were closed. So we went to Von’s, bought several picnic items & asked our cashier to recommend a picnic spot. He pointed to the county park across the street so we drove there & had a picnic at the picnic tables with the historic covered bridge as our back drop! It was lovely & we were so surprised that CA even had such a bridge since we normally associate covered bridges with New Hampshire! This one was built in 1892 over the San Lorenzo River & is one of the few remaining in CA.

Rain or shine Hallcrest Vineyards is my favorite place to be. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, super attentive and share great stories. The outdoor deck is my favorite place to bring a picnic and relax on sunny days. The views are magnificent and the pinots are fantastic! If you like ciders make sure to do a tasting. By far the best winery in the SC mountains!

My daughter lives in Santa Cruz. I went to visit her mid August, & we spent 2 nights in this glorious spa setting. My daughter is a massage therapist & teaches yoga, so she appreciates the natural wellness & beauty of this spa. She had a massage there last year & couldn’t wait to go back & stay. I cannot imagine a more beautiful place to stay, in the midst of Redwood fairy rings & quiet mountains.
The owner is an amazing woman & we had fun talking with her about her work. I even bought her book, called “Balance,” which is so easy to read & work through. I live in Rochester, New York, on the east coast, so I am learning to cherish any balance I can add to my life! I would highly recommend staying at this quiet, peaceful, beautiful gem of a place. You’ll see bottles of children’s bubbles set out - don’t be afraid to blow them into the breeze!!

Still has concerts. Definitely an upgrade. Don Quixote’s food was awful. The only attraction was the shows. Shiws used thto be at Brookdale lodge until it closed.

An ideal way for this old man to enjoy riding behind a Heisler steam engine while my wife enjoyed the open gondola ride through the coastal redwoods. The ride was just under two hours which also make it a good place where parents can take smaller children.
