I visited this beautiful gorge with my teenage son 17 and my brother 50 in Oct 24. We travelled by car and managed to park about 200 metres from the entrance to the gorge stairs. Parking is easy and free, there is a closer car park which has an attendant to help people park properly and a small mobile shop selling drinks.

As you enter the stairs you see the stunning scenery as you make your way down a steep slope. It’s not for little kids as there are no barriers to protect them from falling and definitely lwear trainers. As you descend you come the path that splits left and right. Stick to the right. At the bottom there is a ladder and then a rocky area to get to the water.

We left our bag here as forgot to bring a waterproof one. As you enter the water it gets deeper so you have to swim about 10metres to see the waterfall where it gets shallower again, It’s very cold but you have come all that way so just get on with it!! Ha.

You will then see this amazing waterfall, it’s well worth the effort and made some lovely memories.

I went back to get my phone which I held above my head whilst swimming to take some photos but bring a waterproof case if you need to take your valuables or leave them in the car.

Crowded , small but lovely beach with clear waters.
Quite deep straight away, starts with pebbles and continues into sand.
Impossible to park , very small parking lot.
Drive is a bit scary, winding narrow roads.
Woman who runs Garden Tavern and fancy beach loungers is very unfriendly. She charges €25 for a set of beds and an umbrella. We waited in the tavern for 45 mins and no one even approached us.
Go upstairs to the other tavern, we were welcomed straight away and the food was lovely.

This beautiful beach is accessible via a mini bar serving coffee, ice cream and snacks in the shade of the trees. The beach is well organized, there are clean toilets, a tap to clean your feet and showers with hot water. The sand is beautiful and coarse-grained without dust. The bottom of the sea safe and clean. On the sides marble rocks with a tiny cave. Beautiful place. Safe access and free parking. Nudist-friendly beach.

I really like Plakias, it is my 2nd time im here. Its lovely area BUT you have to be aware of 2 things: often there is extemerly windy and sand hit your body and it hurts and water in the sea is cold because of the river running to the sea so I need few minutes to go to the water.

We loved this beach and visited 3 times while staying in the area. If you get to the beach for 10am it is quiet and you can get parked no problem. Don't arrive after mid-day as by then there are cars everywhere! 2 sunbeds and umbrella was €7 for the day. You can order drinks/food from the guy on the beach and they get brought to your sunbed. Lots of locals seems to go there and it can get very busy.

Great place to visit the beach. Sand and the water were beautiful.

Rodakino was equally as good. Great vibes and music with good quality food options. In fact my Greek salad was the best I had there all holiday.

We have taken a boat trip from plakias harbour to preveli palm beach, cost adults 15 E, children under 12 years, 8 E.

Plenty of room on the boat opposed to other trips we have taken where you are hemmed in, pleasant trip across the harbour stopped at Damnoni beach for a pick up and other location(cannot remember where)

Lovely views during the 20 minute jiurney we were given fresh juice whilst on board, you have 3 ootion times for returning, we only stayed at Preveli for a couple of hours as the beach gets crowded .

Enough time to explore the palm forest, its visually stunning, we all had the chance to swim in the crystal clear freshwater that came from the waterfall at the top of the mountain., peaceful vistas in the forest, a truly magical experience.

The main preveli beach isnt pretty in my opinion its overcrowded and dirty, green stagnent water overflow from the forest is one of the 1st things you see, there is a cafe which wouldnt pass UK hygeine tests selling overpriced drinks and snacks(its the only venue so they can charge what they like) The toilet is a hut you would expect to see in a third world country, its also unisex,,, such a shame the Greek government havent invested in upgrading this beautiful place,, defineatly a must visit destination thevpalm forest is stunning and is wonderful to explore, our son loved his adventure. You can also climb down the mountain to Preveli, we didnt want to do this in the heat, the boat trip was lovely, Finkis boats,, from Plakias harbour you can buy tickets on the boat or from Smirnas bar, boats go out every hour from about 10am, the last boat returns from Preveli around 5.30pm.

We visited one evening for drinks - lovely balcony and views, nice atmosphere - it was not busy when we went - the music was good - there are snooker tables at the back of the bar - it must be good when it is busy - downstairs they had a Café for Crepes - enjoyable evening
