When I lived in the area, I used to really enjoy browsing around The Olde Charity Shoppe. This is a great place to support if you feel like a bit of relaxed retail therapy.

The stores open still are doing a good job. The construction ongoing is messy and feels unsafe to walk past. The end product will likely be very nice but in the meantime....

I was there with my 13 months toddler, she had a ball at the jumping castle.
I ate a lovely breakfast with great quality coffee.
You can get some very good breads and will crafted food items, not only can you leave with full bellies you can also leave with full shopping bags!

Merely an essential stop if it's a chemist you need or the odd take away spot. Conveniently located and yet oddly overlooked..which makes it perfect to avoid the crowds.

Very nice orchids here, and the staff seem to be really knowledgeable about them too. Their plants always look amazing, they have a great variety, and they've helped me recover two ailing orchids in the past. The attached small garden shop also has some rather nice plants at quite good prices.

I did a paint course and had the best time ("did not check my phone" good!)
I highly recommend signing up for one.
We did an intro to chalkpaint - cost R500 (a steal considering we got to use tons of paint, ate pizza and swiss roll, plus got to select and paint and take home an item each)! Lindy who runs the courses, is the most warm and welcoming person with endless patience who goes out of her way to make it the most relaxing and welcoming space. No judgements, just paint and have fun.
They run different courses so check their Facebook page for info.
The shop also has a beautiful selection of hand made and hand painted goods.

Delft Butchery & Deli is in short a delightful place to source your meat. Their range includes homemade pies & frozen meals, a pretty extensive range of cheeses & cold meats along with imported shelf stock fro. Europe. Definitely worth a trip though it may become a regular destination as the service is tops!!
