We had an amazing time during our trip. Our guide was an amazing, kind man. He shows you the best parts of the Okavango Delta, has a great eye for spotting animals and has so much knowledge to share about the area. We would definitely recommend!

I received excellent service. It was way beyond anything that I would have expected. I did go during the less touristy month of November, nevertheless I received great personal care and service. I went for game drive to the Moremi park and I also did the canoe/Mokoro activity. The manager, Lesego, is great. I can not say enough good things about her. I hope you enjoy your visit to Maun and Okavango Delta.

Five-Star Review for Safari Addicts’ Okavango Delta Experience

Our one-day Okavango Delta tour with Safari Addicts was a memorable adventure, filled with local insights, close encounters with wildlife, and fantastic hospitality. Although they were a bit late for the pickup, Master and Phil, our guides, owned the delay, apologized sincerely, and even gifted us bracelets as a thoughtful gesture.

The safari vehicle was exceptionally comfortable, outfitted with cold water, blankets, and plenty of padding—perfect for a day out in the Delta. Master and Phil, who are brothers, brought a unique perspective as they both grew up in a village near the entrance of the Moremi Game Reserve. One of the highlights was getting to visit this village, where they shared stories about traditional life, showed us how locals get a cell signal, and even let us experience brushing our teeth with a “toothbrush tree.” It was these personal touches that truly set the experience apart.

Our day was packed with a variety of activities that included a game drive where we saw elephants, giraffes, antelope, hippos, and crocodiles. The guides’ knowledge and sharp eyesight made spotting wildlife an exciting part of the journey. The traditional canoe ride, with a “poller” guiding us through the water, was a standout experience, especially as we got to explore the unique flora along the way.

Lunch was pleasant and filling, set up under a shaded spot with animals in the background. While we might have preferred a bit more protein, the chicken, potatoes, and especially the spicy peri-peri sauce were satisfying.

While the 12-hour day was a bit lengthy for us, it was exactly as promised, and they continued to impress with their commitment to making the day worthwhile. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, authentic, and immersive way to experience the Delta, Safari Addicts is a great choice. This tour strikes a fine balance between the thrill of wildlife, cultural immersion, and the relaxed pace of a day with local guides. Highly recommended!

    We had an amazing time!

Our guide Moses was a brilliant guide and ensured that we had a very positive experience taking home with us memories of a huge array of animals, previously only seen in books and zoos! His knowledge of animals, birds, trees and plant life was amazing!

Simon and the team looked after us really well despite the challenges they faced with punctures and supply trucks. We loved our tents and found the camp beds really comfortable and the al fresco showers and loo surprisingly easy. Having animals so close to our camp made this especially magical.

The river safari in Chobe was a great end to the trip, allowing us to see many of the animals a lot closer up and from a different perspective, and the transfer from Chobe to Victoria Falls went very smoothly.

If we were doing this again, we would add in one or two extra days so that we could build in more 2-night stays during the holiday (we did a 5-day trip). This would make it more relaxing allowing for an occasional afternoon siesta instead of consecutive days of long drives. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed what we did despite being very tired at the end!

A wonderful holiday and one that we will definitely recommend to others.

On the communication side, everything was great, but an indication of the potential travel times each day (in addition to the morning and evening jeep safaris) would have helped with our planning and to manage our expectations of time on the "road".

We had a wonderful trip in the Okavango with Mosu Safari Tours. We saw so many animals and birds and felt completely safe the entire time. Communication beforehand by Kemy was excellent. Our cook and camp hostess, Temptation, was an absolute gem and really went out of her way to make the experience as good as it could possibly be, even helping celebrate my sister's birthday in the most wonderfully memorable way. Our community guides were mostly friendly and were keen to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. The camp was very comfortable and the food was outstanding. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone wanting a beautiful immersive delta experience.

If you are seeking to be close to the animals, observe them from your camp chair, watch them roam through the campsite at night and early morning, then this is the safari for you. On this unforgettable 11 day journey we navigated the tranquil waters of the Okavango Delta, up early for daily safaris with our knowledgable guide O.T who prioritises your safety while enriching your adventure all the time incorporating everything the magical savannah delivers. The thrill of spotting native wildlife; lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffe, impala, elephants, painted dogs, hyenas and many more all in the comfort of your vehicle, boat or mokoro. Our meals and sleep were interrupted by the call of the wild, so don't miss this opportunity to create lasting memories as you soak up and sweat the harsh beauty of Botswana, Lastly, a special thanks to our "safari Squad" OT, (guide), Ollie (cook), Election (driver & camp hand) and Freddie (apprentice camp hand). Everyday you rose with a smile, great food and company as we journeyed through Moremi, Kwai, Delta, and Chobe National Park. This was a safari of a lifetime. Highly recommend Walking Stick tours to anyone who is adventurous and truly awaits to capture the African calling. Do not hesitate and book now.

One word: wow. From the minute we enquired to the minute we got home we had an incredible experience with Kalahari Breeze. This was a reasonably last minute decision with a friend and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. Maria couldn’t have done enough to help with the organisation, and it was a joy that she decided to come along for the trip too.
Not only did we have some amazing sightings of animals, they also came at no cost to the animal. Maria and our amazing guide & driver Clifford ensured that at all times we gave the animals space and respect, which actually led to more meaningful sightings. Cliff was so knowledgable of the animals and the landscape and I learned so much from him. He was also an incredible driver!
The camp team of OG, Machana and Craig were so welcoming and we felt so well looked after and almost pampered which I wasn’t expecting in a camp in the middle of the bush! The food was delicious and varied, they catered for dietary requirements and everything was served with fun and a smile.
For those who are hesitant of camping, this would honestly be a really good first step into being more adventurous, as everything is thought of and it’s a good mix of being in the middle of no where but with some creature comforts!
At all times the team made us feel safe, supported and cared for. I can’t wait to come back to Botswana and book onto another tour with Kalahari Breeze.

This was a last minute booking because of a delay in our departure from Botswana to Cape Town; it ended up being the best thing that could have happened! Such a worthwhile and informative tour. And fun! We had a great time and purchased some wonderful gifts! Of course, we loved the fact that Travel for Impact is making such a positive difference in the community!!

The Full-Day Mokoro Experience was the very first thing that we did in Botswana - and it was the perfect introduction to the country!

From the start, the Open Sands Safari team was very communicative. I got a WhatsApp message a few hours after I booked the tour, and I got another message the day before the tour with information about our guide and pickup time.

Our guide, Shaku, picked us up at our lodge at 6am on the day of our trip. He gave us nice warm ponchos to wear during the early morning drive, since it was quite windy in the back of the open-air truck. We drove about 2.5 hours from our lodge to the Mokoro Station via a dirt road that required 4WD. It felt very remote to me, but we passed several villages along the way, and eventually we crossed through the gate into the NG32 concession. Once we were in the concession, we saw abundant wildlife - elephants, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, warthogs, and more. Shaku, who I believe said he had been a guide for over 15 years, stopped for each animal that we saw and taught us about the animals as we went along. Before we reached the Mokoro Station, we stopped in the shade and had a little breakfast of coffee, cereals, bananas, muffins, and more.

Once we reached the Mokoro Station, we met Waka, who would be our Mokoro poler and guide. We sat in the Mokoro while Waka stood and guided it in the shallow water. Waka grew up on a nearby island and has lived in the village near the Mokoro Station for most of his life. We asked Waka many questions about plants and animals, his life here in this village, what it was like to grow up here, conservation in Botswana, and more. We are so grateful for his openness to answering our many questions.

After a bit, Waka parked the Mokoro on an island, and we began a 90-minute bush walk. During the bush walk, Waka pointed out animal tracks on the ground, and we admired the wildlife (elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, etc) from a safe distance. The highlight of the day was when Waka noticed some tracks on the ground - then looked up in the tree and saw a leopard's lunch half-eaten! Waka was able to spot the leopard hiding in the bush watching us. He pointed it out to us, and then we moved along. I thought I would feel afraid in that moment, but I felt so safe and secure with Waka. (It seemed to be quite uncommon to come across a leopard, by the way!)

After the bush walk, we took the Mokoro to another island to eat our packed lunch. I am vegetarian, and thankfully they were able to accommodate with a vegetarian meal for me. After lunch, Waka guided the Mokoro back to the Mokoro Station, where we met Shaku and began the 2-hour drive back to Maun.

This was such an amazing start to our trip in Botswana, and our first safari ever! During our trip we also went on safari in Chobe National Park, but the Full-Day Mokoro Experience was such a different type of trip, I am glad that we did both. The Full-Day Mokoro Experience with Open Sands had many of the same animals, but it was also a much richer experience from the cultural perspective. We got to see glimpses of what life is like in villages in Botswana and speak to people who lived there, plus learn about and ride in the traditional Mokoro canoe. Our guides Shaku and Waka made us feel so welcome. And Shaku was so great at taking photos for us! This was a day I'll cherish for a long time!

What a great experience. Communication was spot on and professional. Maria, the owner, is super pleasant and willing to help in any way. Let's start with the ride. My description might sound negative, but it is not. We found it to be one of the highlights of the trip. Probably 70 miles off grid on rugged bumpy roads. I think people would pay just for the experience. The Delta is an untouched oasis of what life has been like for thousands of years. "Raps" was our guide. Excellent choice. As a poler he is skilled and as a guide he is informative and speaks near perfect English. He has a great personality and sense of humor. Hippos, giraffe, various birds, impala, buffalo...all were present. The Bushwalk brought us within 20 feet of 6 giraffes feeding and a small group of zebra.

The campsite epitomized what camping is all about. Tents were set up, liens provided plus some basic essentials. We were greeted warmly and offered a fresh wet towel to freshen. The site was positioned near a large watering hole so plenty of wildlife came into view. Baboons and several listed above were present. Master was our head guide and he is focused on providing you with the best experience seeing the animals. He did not disappoint. Lions, ostrich, Buffalo, wild dogs, hyenas, various birds, plus more. OG was the head chef and delivered great quality food throughout the day. All food is cooked on open flame and he makes the best bread. Cooked in the ground covered in coals this bread was legit. You must add this to your Africa safari plans. We WILL BE BACK!
