Family of five (4,8 & 12 year olds plus mum and dad).
We were all completely entranced and blown away by this museum.

The building itself has great history and the Mary Anning connection (she was christened there when it was a church).
The collection of fossils is vast and we all learned so much. It felt like the curators have put it together with great expertise and passion. We loved the curator’s notes and brilliantly clear explanations of evolution.

We loved the ancient crocodile-type fossil, the dinosaur models and the taxidermy of modern animals.

Clearly a true labour of love for the owners and we will be visiting again when we return to Lyme Regis next year.

What a wonderful museum with an amazing array of artefacts from the local area. We went with our little boy who thoroughly enjoyed it. Particularly the fossils. He has recently got into fossil collecting so this was particularly exciting. We all enjoyed the family quiz as you went round and the spiral staircase with the 16th Century bell is truly remarkable. We will return, thank you.

We really enjoyed our trip to the aquarium today. Although smaller than we anticipated, the information and breadth of knowledge from the lovely assistant today more than made up for it. We really enjoyed the feeding and getting to meet the starfish. The history of Lyme Regis as a whole was included in the tour and we both learnt a lot. Would recommend! The assistant was 10/10 today as well, please pass on our thanks!

We stumbled upon The Town Mill purely by chance we went in hoping to get a nice loaf of bread to have with our supper. What a totally unexpected delight awaited us, we walked in and were greeted in a very warm and welcoming manner, unbeknown to us it was actually quite close to closing time, we were given information about the mill its restoration and history and we were invited to take a tour. It was made clear everyone we would see are volunteers but that our visit was free. We met with the two millers both very enthusiastic and passionate about the mill they spent time with us and the chat about additives in supermarket bread was to say the least eye opening! We left with a sour dough starter kit (currently bubbling away) and made a well earned donation. I recommend this highly especially if like me you have an engineer husband!

Our main reason for visiting Lyme Regis was to visit the brewery. We had such a lovely time. The selection and quality of beers from Lyme Regis Brewery and guest breweries was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere inside and situated in a nice courtyard. The staff/owners are very welcoming. Can't wait to return!

Decades after the release of the French Lieutenants Woman the Cobb remains linked and offers a walk for the careful - especially in high winds

Our main reason for coming to this beach was to see the ammonite pavement. It was well worth the walk, I have never seen anything like it. The name perfectly describes the feature, it has so many embeded ammonites. However, you must be aware of the tides, as it is underwater at high tides. Also if you have any mobility problems or restrictions, this may not be for you.

A great first time sauna experience. We had a private session as the end to a lovely long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the sauna and running down to the sea for a dip! Only recommendation is to check the tide times! It was almost fully out during our session so the sea kept getting further away!

Not been to Lyme for over 30 years but not surprised to find that very little had changed. Quaint, busy at weekends and bustling car parks….so no change. That said the walk from town down to the harbour area is just seaside officianado heaven with fish & chips everywhere. Don’t forget the myriad of fossil shops too. After all it is the Jurassic coast.

I arrived in Lyme early and walked through the gardens to the town just as the cafes were opening - it was lovely and quiet with things slowly coming to life. Its a great place to sit with lovely views of the town. Quiet and peaceful.

A nice beach adjacent to the Cobb. Largely pebbles, and always wet as the high tide comes right up to the Cobb walls.
    No dogs - hurrah!
Plenty of other good walks nearby as well - the Cobb itself, the promenade, fossil hunting walks...
Also dozens of cafes and restaurants.
