The views are stunning, the meat and cheese platter was excellent and fed two people easily. Justin, our wine steward was very helpful with his advise. And the wines are good value for money.

The gardens are wonderful and there is a nice playground for kids near the restaurant. Unfortunately there is a lot of plastic, tinsel from balloons and other small bits of rubbish on the grass area near and quite far from the restaurant. Not great for the tortoises and critters living there.

Friendly staff. Incredible location in the mountains in a private reserve, lovely getaway, pristine setting, beautiful views. Very basic rooms. Great selection of Craft beers at their brewery and also a restaurant, but with with limited choices. Nice to sit on the patio deck!

We found MBC via TripAdvisor recommendations when planing our last minute break away.
We did not know what to expect and when making our way to the venue questioned whether we made a good choice.
We admit it is a bit of a drive to get there, but once you sit on the stoep, take in the breathtaking views and enjoy an ice cold craft beer it all was worth it.
Great beer, great food and great service. Thanks Marius for adding value to our beer tasting gexperience.

My first trip to Golden Valley was wonderful. The rooms were neat, clean the food at the lodge not so great. The waffles had no flavour to it, I almost volunteered to make the batter myself because I know it would have tasted far better than what I actually ate. I had 2 bites and said no thanks. It didn't taste like anything, the only thing that tasted good was the fruit that came on it. No kid friendly activities available except the wifi. It was way too cold to swim in the non heated outdoor
Swimming pool. The jungle gym park near the pool was taped up an my kid wasn't allowed to play on it. Besides the short hiking trail there's nothing else for a kid to do there which can make or break ur getaway. So bring your own boardgames with. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay, and I the casino was a breath of fresh air. The music was welcoming and so was the drink in the bar too. Their pizza at the casino was amazing. I didn't order food from the lodge but my partner did and he said the food was "OK". I didn't take any chances after the waffle so I mainly ordered pizza and got food at the mall nearby.

It gives a good idea of life on the old, simple farms with some jewels like the bakery and distillery. Worth while if you are in the area.

We visited Botha Kelder on Saturday for a wine pairing. What a fabulous experience. The venue is beautifully decorated and the relaxing ambiance is just what we needed. The lady (we think her name was Christelle) who was front of house and who took us through the pairing was a Service ambassador for the winery. Wines are very reasonable - we will definitely recommend this cellar and will be back soon. Thank you.

Art Gallery, coffee shop and more. A great shop to view local art as it is an art lovers paradise full of interesting and unique creations. Visit them on market day for an extra treat.

Worcester is approximately 100 km from Cape Town and a good get away place. This mall is a hive of activity in this small town and consists of many restaurants, clothing shops, and well known chain stores such as Checkers hypermarket, Food Lover's, etc. with free parking facilities. It is situated next to a large dam with beautiful views over the dam, a good place to just sit and enjoy the moment.

This place is very hard to find, it is really out of the way. You must call ahead for a reservation to taste or there will be nobody around. It you do find it they have some amazing wines. We love the Cape Blend and it was worth going out of our way for.

The first time I came to De Wet cellars, I did a wine tasting. I was impressed by the number of sweet and semi sweet wines (those I like). Unfortunately, at that time, the lockdown regulations didn't allow me to buy any bottles. When I came back this weekend, I bought the bottles I had listed during my previous visit.
Delicious wine and very good service.
In winter, you can have your tasting by the fire, in summer, on the stoep outside.
