This was the first wine tasting we did in South Africa and it was a fantastic location with a great wine selection. We enjoyed each one and were taken through each by the team at Waterford with a lot of knowledge and expertise as to how each wine is created. The Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent.

Absolutely world class! From the friendly security, perfect gardens, beaaautiful new shop, it seems everything was well thought through and no effort spared. Also, their sustainability message shines through from beginning to end. Well done Spier!

A really great experience. Not crowded so easy to speak to bird handlers. I was really surprised how many birds and other species they had on site.

Altogether a wonderful afternoon spent watching these wonderful birds.

We were just walking around Stellenbosch when we happened upon the Botanical Gardens. We spent a good 2 hours walking around enjoying the plants, gardens and wildlife. We stopped for a coffee in the shade and were really surprised by how fab it was. I would definitely recommend a visit.

We spent 3 hours walking and admiring the sculptures and gardens by this wonderful artist. The reception staff is knowledgeable and eager to assist in maximizing your enjoyment here. The detailed brochure lays out the garden routes, sculptures to be seen and categories of artwork. The hand and eye of the talented Mr. Lewis in designing this garden are exquisitely apparent. A short break in the cafe for coffee and mini cakes was delicious and well earned. This is a beautiful site to absorb and enjoy nature and sculptures in perfect harmony.

We flew to Cape Town from Hong Hong Kong and this was one of the highlights. An old friend of mine took us to a surprise location, which turned out to be Stark-Condé. We don't drink, but immensely enjoyed the serenity surrounding the restaurant! The vegan meals we had there were from the top drawer and at a very affordable price (for comparative purposes, the 3 of us all had a big meal with drinks at a lower price than we paid Ocean Basket in Strand). After lunch, we spent several hours walking around at the lake and vineyards, admiring the view and red knobbed coots (see attached pics).

We enjoyed a stroll down this historic street, with its grand buildings, smart cafes & restaurants.
Look out for interesting street art too.

We had dinner at Claras Barn last night and it was amazing!! We did the wine pairing menu. Every course was absolutely delicious!
Bianca and Christian were fantastic hosts. Both had an excellent knowledge of the food and wines.
The decor in the restaurant, which were the old stables was very tastefully done. The setting of the restaurant overlooking the dam with a fantastic sunset view was spectacular!
I can highly recommend this restaurant for a fantastic dining experience!

A few important things to note before you go! The trails are some distance from the entrance. You can drive your car and park at a couple of different locations to access trails. BUT beware. The road is narrow and unpaved with rocks and bumps. It is a one-way loop so once you enter you must continue. Parking spots are few, if taken, then you must drive on. There is no shade so be prepared and take water with you.

As for trails, they are very narrow and rocky. Tracking poles may be advisable along with good hiking shoes. Constantly looking down to avoid rocks distracts from enjoying the views, which are great.

We arrived to a mysterious misty Villiera wine farm on a cool Saturday morning. We were greeted by warm hosts with bubbles and then wrapped in blankets to find the animals hiding in the mist. The animals were wonderful but what really made this experience stand out was our game ranger, Guillaume. What an interesting man he is. He entertained us with stories, theories, facts and humour. This man was so enchanting that we felt like booking another game drive just to engage with him some more. Guillaume also led us through the wine tasting (the bubbles are delish) to end a wonderful, memorable morning of making memories together with our family and friends.
